    Tim Thomas
    04-05: 6.7ppg 2rpg

The guy has never averaged more than 5rpg in his life, and he has been in the Eastern Conf. his entire career.

Tim Thomas is not a PF, period.

Tinman-do you know the difference between a SF and PF?

Thorpe/Herrera/Horry played the majority minutes at PF, and Bullard played SF primarily.

    1. No he can't. Thomas has never played PF except in spurts. Even in the East. Odom has longer arms and has played a full season at PF.
    2. He's not "about as overpaid as Mo." Mo got a 6 year $48 million contract. Thomas got a 6 year $67 million contract. If Mo is overpaid, then Tim Thomas over-overpaid by $19 million.
    3. Tim Thomas has a career average of 4.1 rpg, and a season high of 4.9 rpg. By contrast, Mo who is widely regarded as a bad rebounder has a career mark of 5 rpg, and a season high of 6.4 rpg.

I'm not sure one can find a worse fit for our PF position than Tim Thomas. He gives nothing that we can't already get from Howard and Taylor. And he's even worse at the weaknesses of our PF position, rebounding and toughness.

Btw, what's up with trade ideas on these post-JVG Knicks players? Thomas has spent less time in NY than JVG has in Houston.

Tim Thomas is a SG trapped in a PF's body, and even that is a 'slim' PF. Tim Thomas does not defends and has no desire for defensive boards. His offense is basically hovering around opponents' 3-point line, plus a little bit of slashing when his mood strikes. The worst thing is he is a true 'softie' who also does not work real hard.

To sums it up: Tim Thomas is a career loser. You want him?

No. He is not a PF and isn't a good enough shooter for a SF either. On top of that he doesn't play defense.

Actually that's not true - Bullard played PF a lot of the time.....

    Dude,
He's a great complimentary player to Yao and Tmac.
    He's not Dennis Rodman.

He can BLOCK shots and he's not slow. This dude's got game. He's just stuck on the Knicks with BallHoggbery.

Just when you thought that tinman couldn't possible say anything as dumb as this...

That's like saying Darko Milicic (sp) was the reason the Pistons won last season.

Bullard rarely came in at the 4. Also, I don't remember him doing much of anything in 94. He wasn't with the team in 95.

Turn the alarm clocks on people and wake up!

we need a COMPLIMENTARY PLAYER, not some old washed up or dope smoking players who played for a corrupt NCAA program.
Why do we need players who want to average 20pts a game when we have 2 all stars??

    ROBERT HORRY,
    LEGENDARY HERO,

only averaged 5 rebounds per game and 8 points his CAREER.

Let me tell you about this Robert Horry guy, he's not as good as Tim Thomas, but you pair him with some good Centers..

Tinman- no one is saying Tim Thomas isn't a good player. But he isn't a PF like you suggest and nothing you can say will change that. Why is it that everyone disagreeing with you?

    1. Tim Thomas is not a PF, period.

    2. He has a HUGE contract, $19M more than MoT.

    3. Has averaged 4rpg, and 2rpg so far this season.

Sure he is a good complimentary player, but I don't want another bloated contract on this team.

Also, "He can BLOCK shots?" the guy has a .41bpg average for his career. Hey, but he did average .30% of a block per game last season.

    Aw, just a "little" high?

Wow, yet bring up Juwan's ad nauseum, which isn't even relevent anymore, to argue how 'bad' a player he is.

    Dude,
If I were a Wizard's fan, I sue him for every second I watched him play. He stole more money from Washington than any special interest group. He's ENRON and Haliburton with Nike shoes on.

Guys, Tinman is obviously being dumb on purpose.. or just has never watched the Rockets, the West, and/or Tim thomas.

Regardless, someone lock/kill this thread. I think we all know what Thomas is and isn't capable of, and what his contract is like, and that no one in the NBA would ever start him at PF for more than an emergency game.

Guys, Kalediscope is purposely replying to my post cause there are no other good post out there and he cant write his own cause he has no opinion about the Rockets that's worth 2 cents.

All the fans gave Rudy crap for drafting Horry over Harold Minor and gave him crap for making him play SF and PF. Fans give him crap about his regular reason performance.. Kaediscope was the first one to cast the stone on Rudy..

Tim Thomas has game. The Knicks dont use him well cause there whole team sucks.

I might not be the biggest Howard or Taylor fan, but wanting Tim Thomas over them as our PF must be a joke :).
