Are you denying the fact that the Colts have one of the top defenses in the league?

Peyton is a choker until he proves otherwise. He consistently comes up small in big games. That makes him a choker in my book.

He's still got time to change that though. But he's lost all the benefit of the doubt with this poor performance.

Don't you think the coaching staff deserves some of the heat for their performance?

Not that I'm a fan of his, but I'm intrigued by the fact many folks are laying the blame SOLELY on Manning.

I really don't understand the call to go to the endzone when it was 2nd and 2. Granted he almost caught the ball but why not get the first down with one of the best RB's in the league. Then you have 4 more downs and plenty of time to get into better range. Then they go for it again on 3rd and 2 instead of going for the first down.

A RB like Edge is no joke, and i was shocked that he did take both shots to the endzone with plenty of time and a short yardage situation for 1st down.

I guess we won't know if that was the call from the coaching staff or if it was a changed play by Manning.

what? that kick wouldn't have been good from 25, much less 5 yards closer. it was God-awful.

as for manning, he certainly has a lot to prove in big games, there is no doubt. however, he did have 290 yards, 1 TD, and no interceptions (and no fumbles as far as i know) so it's not like he just went out there and bombed. those are actually pretty good numbers. granted, he may have messed up the 2nd and 2 and he obviously didn't make the plays to win, but it's not like he sucked or wasn't getting pressured all day long.

The Colts did a horrible job adjusting to what the defense was throwing at them. If they are blitzing off the corners every play you have to run screens and short passes to the backs in the spots the defenders are leaving. The Broncos did a great job of that. Peyton is the coach on the field and checks off every time at the line, he even sent the punt team back to the bench at one point in this game so he has to take the blame for the poor calls.
I'm sure he's the one that took the shot in the end zone on second down when the short underneath stuff was working to get a chip shot to tie.

    Big balls, big falls.

But the Steelers just whippped them, that's football.

It is a different type of kick if 5 yards closer. Kickers use different techniques from different distances.

    Some
but It seem to be tha literally Manning runs that offense
Shooing the Punt team off etc.
    Manning calls most his plays
Manning calls most of the protections

Manning is in full choke mode during the playoffs. He's the ARod of the NFL. Awesome during the regular season and a paper tiger in crunch time.

I love them both but . .they did not get it done
I think Warren like Marino .. I felt had more reason why
    than Peyton though

    ONE MORE THING

this is not based on the game yesterday

    but his career
As I stated earlier. . it is GLARING
that Tennesse won the NC *AFTER* he left
with a QB that was not as good as Peyton was suppose to be

I said choker....when it matters MOST he doesn't seem to step up. His body language changes and he is clearly flustered. The pressure clearly takes him off his game.

Dungy couldn't adjust to the Steeler blitz.

Wait... Doesn't Manning call the plays at the line.

They should have used the 5 yard slant more. The game would have dragged on, but they might have eaten enough clock so the Steelers offense would stay off the field more.

Elway at least went to the Superbowl with avg offensive talent around him.

I'm not going to bash peyton as much as I would like to, just not a big fan of his, but I will say that the thing that's hurting his reputation more is the fact that he is playing with HOFers on Offense in their prime and whatever the breakdowns are, offensive line, whatever, its usually the offense that fails them in the playoffs.
