Cold Pizza announced it's a done deal.

    I'm still in shock.

    NY, We have a problem...

First we punk'd NY with the Rockets, next we a throw a 6 pitcher no-hitter in their crib, and now we bring home their (our) lefty pitching ace.

    :D

Oh happy day! The baseball editor was wrong! Now for some good-natured ribbing!

You should hear the Yanks fans grumble around me. It's hi-larious. Here's the running commentary (select quotes):

"Sure, they can buy piece of s*** Giambi, but they can't afford Pettitte?"
"Hey [my name], you got Astros tickets for me?"
"What do we got? Javier Vasquez?!?!"
    "Damn!"
"The Astros will STILL miss the playoffs next year."
"[My name], you got room for Clemens?"
"You should f***ing thank us [Phillies fan talking] for taking Wagner off your hands!"
"Doesn't matter. We're [Yankees] getting Kevin Brown now. Weaver for Brown."
"Maybe the Astros will go to the World Series now for the first time."
"I'm not going to a [Yankees] game now. F*** them!"
"No Pettitte? No Nick Johnson? F***!"

Let it be known that I called this right after the World Series.

I'm sad for the Yankees but I'm very happy for Andy!

That Megalomaniac Steinfuker is mucking up the Yankees AGAIN!!!!

    :D :D :D :D

This is fantastic news. The Pettite signing is a move the Astros needed to make to rejuvenate the club and the fans.

BTW, I'm sure that Uncle Drayton is spooging in his pants at the thought of possibly bringing in both Pettitte and Clemens. Ticket sales would go thru the roof.

    :)

This reminds me of some of the quotes from the monster thread at the Yankees board about this.

Alot of them were saying that Pettitte was throwing his career away by going to a loser team.
Evidently, they feel that Pettitte is great for them, but wont make any impact on the Astros chances for success..

    Sour grapes boys...lol

    Props to McLane (and Hun)!!!

I hope they do whatever it takes to surround AP to be favored for a Fall Classic run.

Go to Astros.com and listen live. You need Real Player. The free one though, no subscription service or anything.

WOW! Money didnt matter this time and im friggin glad we landed Pettite. This guy sacrificed the Yanks offer which was 7.5 mil more. Thats hard to get even in this time of money first sports.

All I can say is Merry Christmas Houston!!!!!

Haha... Drayton had this air about him during the press conference, like he was telling all the bashers out there to, "Suck this!!!... I AM doing what it takes to be a champion!"

We'll see Drayton... but he was definitly giddy.

What a great move and this really is a big committment for the Stros' to be a contender...I loved Billy, but the money is well spent on a starter...

    Go Stros'!!!
