My mistake, that's what happens when you only open the last page of a thread.

Those guys are so myopic, they have the time set on that site to not 1 but 6 hours ahead of us.

'Tis just precisely what it sounds like - ratio of ground balls allowed to fly balls allowed by a pitcher. Ground ball pitchers are, as I'm sure you're aware, a wonderful thing to have at MMPUS.

I our offer 3 yrs/30 mill? The article says that the Yankees didn't offer more than that.

The Wagner move looks great though- it looks like we parlayed a closer which is seemingly easily replaced by Dotel with a solid back of the rotation/bullpen guy (Duckworth), a very highly thought of prospect, another decent prospect, and a top of the rotation (1/2) starter for a marginal ($2mill minus the cost of the supplemental first rounder) increase in payroll.

    Well done.

Pettite's a horse- he's pitched 190+ innings in 7 of his last 8 seasons, he's never had a losing record, and he's never won less than 12 games.

I would love to see a player decline more money from New York but It wouldnt suprise me at all if George steps in at the last minute and signs him for even more money. I wont complety believe this until he officially signs with Houston.

I like this one on the first page:

Some of those fans, ie most of them, are jerks. Very few are at least appreciative of Andy for giving them the best years of his career.

    Bad move.

    Pettite isn't worth the money.

But I guess he had to do something with Wags money.

I'm as excited as the next guy, but what's the last paragraph saying about us not having a #1 guy for the last few years and Andy being that guy? I think Roy is better and Pettite should be the #2.

Why did Rockets fans care, he was washed up anyway. Let him go make more money if he wants. I was dissappointed in his statements, but the guy probably just hadn't come to grips with the current state of his ability.
