I have an idea guys, how about we trade Moblely and Biggio for Vlad and a box of chocolates.

    Houston sends:

    Cuttino Mobley
    Craig Biggio

    Houston receives:
    Vladdamir Guerrero

    TRADE ACCEPTED

fantastic news. good to see that drayton is willing to expand the budget for a second year in a row to bring in a good free agent. our staff looks promising . . .

Why are so many so sure deleting Wags = getting Pettitt? Did I miss something here?

If it were true, good trade.

If it were true, I'll be Bonzo's uncle.

There's a better chance of finding Bin Laden on the BBS posting Pro-American remarks than there is of the Yankees letting go of Pettite. -- NJRocket

Roc Paint - you deserve some sort of prize. First bbs 'Stros viewing next season, you drink for free.

Now that this is finally done, can someone explain to me why a guy with a career ERA of 3.94 is so valuable.

This is great news, if true. No sports or news websites are reporting this...yet.

Again, can someone tell me what is so special about a career 3.94 ERA picture?

If you paid attention to the Astros pitching staff last year, you'd know why.

Plus it means that the Sox will only face him in either interleague or the World Series!

How about...playoff experience? 21 wins...wins are wins, he kept the team in the game no matter what his ERA was. And he's better than all but one of our starters.

According to Sweeny Murti (sp?), Yanks beat reporter on WFAN: deal not finalized, basic parameters (# years, $$$) are agreed to, still determining how much $$$ will be deferred, Hendrick's brothers say something will be announced over the weekend, down to Yanks & Stros...

I don't doubt he's a good addition to the staff, it just seems to much to me. $10MM?

Great teams have a way of making good players look great. I think the Astros are overpaying him by about $3MM, and that's money THIS team, can't afford to throw around.

At least its only 3 years.
