It was a great first game with current team. Rockets do not need Nick to provide offense, great D and minimum turnovers is what is needed. He can handle ball in spurts. Tough, smart, athletic D minded kid will help us in postseason. No one is comparing Nick to Bev, maybe it's your expectations that are skewed. Now I want to see Capela get some minutes with Dwight unavailable on B2B. KJ too.
I don't remember saying anything about Bev. Hmm. If Bev played the defense Nick did (which Bev routinely does) I would be happy. That's why I like Bev. Also, did you watch the fouls Nick drew? He cut to the basket, initiated contact, and drew the foul. Sure he missed the FTs, but he's a 73% FT shooter, he'll get his shot down later.
I was amazed by how Nick was able to fight through picks and catch up with the fast ain't fair John Wall.
Good D today, but I already knew he could do that. Still looks lost on offense, but I'm glad they are giving him minutes, it serves a few purposes. For one it allows us to keeps Prigs and Jet's minutes under control. Second it gives us a chance to see if he can help us. Lastly even if he doesn't look great, it gives him some valuable experience in case we are forced to go to him in the postseason.
Nick did a good job, but the issue with playing him hurts the spacing on our floor. When him and harden played together, they would overload the side Harden is on while playing off Johnson. If Johnson can develop a jumper he has lots of potential
Dude, I'm sorry for this, but it's "you are so biasED". I see this on Clutchfans so much; it's like saying "you guys are so speed", instead of "you guys are so speedy". Adjective vs noun. Alright carry on. [/swoly]
Now that it seems like Beverley will be lost for the season hopefully he can get some confidence to contribute a little offensively at least.
He needs to get in the GYM and camp at the 3pt line make 300 a day, and before you know it, he is Bev 2.0. DD
Is that you Drexler! Nick's ball handling improved a lot. He seems to more natural, fit him better due to his size. The kid was a bit overwhelmed looking over his shoulder not to be benched. Him & Prig Play like a father/son dual
ME TOO! I was watching that stretch of the game on SD quality on BS, and I couldn't tell Prigs and Nick apart. It was amusingly frustrating... lol.
Nick played like his feet were 3 inches off the floor. Yeah, pretty lost on offense, but if he can cut down on his mistakes, his defense alone is worth having him on the court.
