Next to the signing of TMAC this is the best thread all offseason.

Rockets management, I am (and probably every other Rockets fan to poor to afford tickets to the game) throwing myself at your mercy, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do NOT let Coop be the color commnetator this season. It was tough enough to stomach her doing the half time shows last year. If this is some cruel attemp to discourage television watching and encourage people to buy tickets to the games its not funny. I know you don't want the guilt of what people might do after being forced to listen to three hours of "the Coop Scoop". She is like Peter Brady in the episode of the Brady Bunch when he kept freezing up when the red camera light would come on.....lol I mean first its that gawd awful "Van-on" on the 610am sports babble and now this...

If not for me, do it for the children. I am begging you to please stop the madness!

I've never seen so many people agree on one topic.

I wonder if it was between Cooper and Karl Malone, who'd we vote for???

    Karl:D

    Signed.

I don't want to see her anywhere on the TV. I sign the halftime petition too.

She's the worst on air TV person I've ever seen. It looks like a high school production when she's on.

Think about it, she can sing, commentate, and distract the other team. I'm a genius!

Late to arrive - I would quit watching games if Coop is the color analyst. That's just wrong! I do love watching her uncomfortable "somebody farted" expression she gives before each and every commercial break or when Jeff is talking.

    Just say NO!

How about having Boki do it? He's got the time.

    Just for the record....

Lisa Maloski: Very good sideline reporter; full of energy, positive and articulate (a professional reporter; she could go on to do CNN or something like that just like Hanna Storm). Seems like a nice person.

Calvin Murphy: Goofy, silly, a caricature of himself; a little arrogant, sensitive; has short mans' chip on his shoulder, great ball player, knows everything you need to know about the skill of "shooting." Not really a professional commentator. But he learned over time.

Matt Bullard: Great shooter, very knowledgeable about the WHOLE GAME. Intelligent basketball analysis. A little dry on the "color" part of the commentating. But, overall, a good CC. I like his anecdotes and humor. He has funny inside stores to tell about the Rockets. Great guy.

Gene Peterson and Bill Worrel: Great play-by-play announcers. Each, the best at what they do. Pure professionals!

Cynthia Cooper: Great player! One of the best Houston has ever had. Friendly. Overall, just a nice person. NOT a color commentator. She *needs* training. He has NO commentating experience. This is why people major in journalism and broadcasting. It's a skill that must be mastered just like basketball. I mean, just because Bill Worrel likes basketball, doesn't mean he could play at the same level as Cooper. Cooper needs to get proper training in broadcasting. She is not a professional. And it shows. It's embarrassing for her and our fans.
