Oh yes I can, Shane is hustling on offense and defense and is not favoring any apendage, until Tracy does that, he sits.

First, Grover is paid by Tmac, nothing he says is remotely credible in this regards.

It may very well be he plays on those dates, I said it was Mid December at the beginning of the year....but I think the bridge has been burned, and when Tmac plays or if he plays, he will have a short leash, and a guy playing for a contract is not going to like it.....

This will get ugly...VERY UGLY...VERY FAST.

Yeah, but he still has to play defense and move off the ball on offense, he has been a stand around and do it on the dribble guy his entire career.

You think that suddenly a guy that is coming off of knee surgery is going to become a high motor move off the ball player?

    Uh, me either.

you do know grover evaluates his clients before actually taking them in right? he will tell the client how he will help them, and how much his process will help them. there was an interview with him and melo's trainer on NBA.com this year (hopefully someone can find that video). he's not going to make preposterous comments just to pump tmac up. his client list includes jordan, wade, kobe (some of the best players in the world). there's no need to hire a broken down tracy mcgrady and proclaim he can return to his all-star days if he doesn't deem so. his credibility would be shot if tracy came back and looked like last year.

i don't see grover saying arenas would be back to his old days, nor jermaine o'neal, nor bonzi (his other clients). the only 2 times i have seen grover PUBLICLY on national TV making these claims were for dwade, and tracy mcgrady.

tmac WILL be on a short leash. i agree with that. there's nothing wrong with that. the coach is coaching to win games, and if the player does not help you, you don't play him. that's common sense. tracy is no longer a star in this league. if he wants to be one again, he has to regain the form that made him a star. the last time we saw tracy was last year, and he didn't deserve any playing time.

and again, if tracy plays in whatever minutes he's given and he sucks it up, it's time for him to retire. short leash or not. contract or not. if he plays well, he'll be given ample playing time. it's up to tracy when he starts playing. and there's too much motivation for him (after working his butts off in the offseason) to start slacking off now. expect tracy to have his playoff intensity (yes DD, he does try on both ends in the playoffs, i know it's a myth to you though).

i don't know what he is going to be. i haven't seen him play yet to see what kind of player he is after microfracture. i can only gather information from the people closest to him (his doctors, grover, his teammates, coaches, and morey -- yes, morey has hinted tracy will return that level of play b/c he has said many times when tracy returns, we get "that guy.").

a few more weeks and we know.

Yeah, he evaluates how it will help his business.

There is no way to take what Grover says with anything other than a trainers interest.

The guy is paid by Tmac, got a lot of publicity out of TMac going up to his gym.

And if Tracy comes back he looks great, if not, no big deal, he still has Wade, and Kobe etc....

I am sure Grover is a good trainer, but I am equally as sure he is a business man and is looking to grow his business and get paid.

    Why do I even bother......SHEESH.

    Whatever T_mac1....What the FRICK ever.

LOL, Yeah I'm sure he really wants the publicity of T-Mac going to his gym. He obviously needs it. Guys like MJ, Wade and Kobe aren't getting it done in the publicity department.

Yeah, who would want even more publicity and another high priced client paying a lot of $$$$ to go there.

I mean that would be insane, right?

    Unreal.

(They will probably practice Saturday and Monday. I'm not sure about Tuesday. They won't practice again after that until Dec. 7. I thought the road trip might have been a good guess, but when the doctor said McGrady will be monitored in the coming weeks, it seemed vs. Cleveland or on the Philadelphia-Toronto road trip would be more likely. -- Jonathan)

Cool thanks, I have to look out for my fantasy team. Danny Granger just got injured, I hope it's not too serious since he has been my best player.

I don't know, do you? I mean do you follow Arenas, have you seen the broadcasts with him and Grover?

Is Arenas in a contract year where he would need to get the word out?

Look, it is clear that you and I look at this completely differently, you are looking at it as a fan, I am looking at it as a business owner.

Totally different views on the same situation.

We are NEVER...NEVER going to agree.

it's fine to disagree, as long as we have civil discussions.

and yes i do follow arenas. like i said, i'm an avid NBA fan. arenas himself has made proclamations, but i never saw grover come out with him hand in hand and proclaim anything. and no, arenas is not in his contract year. however, he has not seen the court in 2 years and there was little hype regarding arenas. wouldn't he have loved some kind of hype? i would think so.

i'm also looking at it from a business point of view. if i was grover, i want to keep my credibility. he could have easily said i will help tracy resolve his knee problems and "HOPE" he can regain his level of play. there was no need for guarantees or whatever. in fact, grover tried to make A MONEY BET on that fox interview that tracy will return to his old level of play. that was how adamant he was. it wasn't just any kind of proclamation, it was a GUARANTEE. big difference. business owners don't make guarantees willy nilly. like i said, he has worked with MJ, wade, and kobe. he doesn't need the extra attention tracy gives him. he's already well-known throughout the sports world. if tracy does well, fine. if he doesn't, it won't hurt his clientele list. there was no need for any kind of guarantee on national TV that he will return.

and also, that new rockets trainer said tracy will also regain his old form.

so like i said, i'm gathering information from all who have seen him. we haven't. these are not my beliefs. i'm just restating what others have said.

Me too, but I don't take things at face value without first analyzing motivations for doing so.

For your reason #4, if I understand correctly, the insurance is paying 80% T-Mac's salary right now as long as he sits.
So let's see the 2 scenarios when T-Mac playing/not playing,
1.) If T-Mac not playing, the rockets(Les) are getting ~18M divided by N(about a quarter millions) per game back from insurance while making ~23M contractual payment.
2.) If T-Mac plays, Les would stop getting that $250,000 a game. Do you think T-Mac worth 18M/yr at this point to Adelman/Les? And if he played one game and out, Les would not get any insurance $ until he is out for at least 41 consecutive games.
So I guess Rockets would likely hold T-Mac out as long as possible. Yes, T-Mac got screwed in his contact year but it is business. Les is a business man.

it's fine to analyze, just don't over-analyze like you always do with your conspiracy theories.

i guess you think bonzi had something to gain when he said tracy will be back to his old self too right?

i mean, it just can't be that he may really be back to his all-star ways. i mean, it just can't be?

like elson turner said, this is essentially tracy's training camp. this style of play is completely different from what the team has been playing with yao. and he also has to get used to playing with trevor and chase, and improved brooks/scola/landry/lowry. one practice is not going to solve all that. he has to develop a rhythm/chemistry with the team. tracy, and his big mouth, wants to do that in real games. the coaching staff wants to do it in practice. once he finds a groove in practice with the guys, he'll play. and i think he'll find a better groove after 5 practices or so.

PS - i just hope tracy doesn't get pounded by you DD when he takes that quick 3 on the fast break.

If it is a good shot, it is a good shot.

This year is all about early offense.

But if he loafs on defense, he will get benched and deservedly so.

If you are watching the game right now, please tell me that Tmac is not going to be valuable for this team... At least Tmac can go to the basket and draws fouls to get us some points....

At least he can create his own shots off the dribble and dish some dimes to our spot up shooters.

Please, let him be active on the roster and put him on the floor, that ain't gonna hurt us at all.

because some people including coach RA don't realize how Tmac could be effective for this team.
