AI will be the pass first PG that Steve never could be for JVG?

Vecsey is the dumbest cinderblock to ever come around. Why does he even have a column anymore? Shouldn't there be a rule where if you put to print more than 20 BS articles in a month, you get canned?

Although most would agree that AI's shot selections are sometimes wild and suspect, but AI is the ultimate player. He's a better passer, defender, can create shots a lot better for his teammates than SF, and just overall better basketball player. If he came here and had to defer to Yao, he certainly would do a better job than SF3 IMO.

Not that I'm defending Vecsey for this tripe, but he wasn't saying Iverson to Houston - rather Iverson to Atlanta.

After thinking about it...I absolutely wanted to do both trades!!!!

But i am cautious about the Wallace trade because he's going to be a free agent anyway after this season. So unless Rox can make him committ to signing, it's too risky to take him and then only to lose him in the summer.

As for AI for Steve Francis, I would do it in a heartbeat. Are you kidding me?? AI is more much MUCH more fundamental player than Francis. Francis is a turnover-prone type of player and he can kill the team chances of winning by turning over 4 or 5 times a game but AI would not do that and AI with his quickness and penetration and precision shooting is just going to make this team a hell lot better. But who's going to play PG if Francis ain't here?? That's the problem.

    Allen Iverson 2003 averages:
    4.4 turnovers per game
    39.5% FG%

    Steve Francis 2003 averages:
    3.6 turnovers per game
    40.3% FG%

Iverson also has no one on his offense to alleviate pressure. If Francis were on the Sixers right now, that FG% would be closer to 35%.

why anyone thought he meant we were getting iverson in a 3-way instead of sheed right after he gave us sheed in a two-way is beyond me.

iverson is better than steve, but why anyone would want iverson as a great fit is beyond me. lets see, you shoot more than steve, you shoot worse when you do, and you're running away from the league in turnovers per game, an astonishing 0.8 ahead of francis, and you can't spread the court with outside shooting and you've never shown the willingness to defer to anyone. yeah, he'd be perfect. if we're gonna trade steve, better get the guy who does every bad thing he does, just more.

Has Iverson played with a teammate as good as Yao? No.

Who should AI defer to? Eric Snow? Aaron McKie? The Sixers have no one to create their own shot, Glen Robinson included, who is most useful running around screens.

You act as if the Sixers offense would be thriving without Iverson.

Iverson is a better creator than Francis, plain and simple, if only because he is more willing to take it to the rack. If Yao is hanging around the basket, AI will rack up at least 5 assists a game just to Yao.

Glen Robinson If you haven't heard of him he's a career 20 point per game scorer.

I´m sorry, but some of the posters here need to come down off that Laker sugar high.

This is the same team that a week ago nearly threw away a game to the Bulls because it couldn´t be bothered to care when the game isn´t THE GAME OF THE MONTH.

No way in hell would I want Wallace on this team. I dont' know if you guys haven't been paying attention or what... but we've had enough troubled pot-heads on this squad, wouldn't you say?

Look, I remember when the Kings took a chance on Chris Webber... that worked out *amazingly* well. And from a talent level, I could see the same argument being made about Sheed.

But this guy's a maniac! He's INSANE in the MEMBRANE, GOT NO BRAIN.

I'd become a certified YOF if this guy was on the Rockets, honestly. The Rockets support system ain't all that strong in the first place, or Griffin wouldn't have gotten in the trouble that he did... throw Wallace into the picture? No way.

Besides Glenn Robinson, AI has also had:

    Jerry Stackhouse
    Larry Hughes
    Toni Kukoc
    Matt Harpring
    Keith Van Horn

I do think AI is a better player than Stevie and I would trade for him if this was a video game. But since its real life, there's one AI trait I hope Steve never tries to copy: BEING A CANCER ON YOUR TEAM.

Also, AI's body is breaking down from years of gung-ho play.

Not that I'm contributing to this tripe but...

JVG refused to be considered for the Philly job (much closer to East Coast and NYC than Houston) because of what? Iverson?

So, Vecsey was ok on that, but...Iverson puts butts in seats and ATL has no butts in their's. That is what makes Iverson the league's MVP/TP (most valuable player/trade purposes) [along with the Bryant kid from LaLa].

Stevie would be on that (MVP/TP) all star team, too!

surprising that a yao only fan wants AI? I thought that AI would be yao's wors nightmare. I dont think yao would touch the ball anymore. And AI a winner? The rockets had simmilar records for a while with the sixers, and the sixers are on the leastern conference.

when francis was the only guy, in his first 3 years, he had a 45% fg percentage. Dont tell me AI is a better shooter.

you have no knoledge of basketbal. Even if you have the sorriest team, you should not be taking 30 shots to get 25 pts. THat just is plane inefficient. You havent seen many sixer games have you. AI takes the craziest shots in the world... and bricks em. Atleast francis doesent take shot after shot... Francis's carear high shot attemps is only 29. He playes way more under control than AI. And dont be ignorant thinking that AI will change his game if he moves to houston.
