Yeah, but this Vecsey is spelled differently, so it's obviously some other guy you don't like. :D

Maybe. But I can see Les trying to shed salary, so maybe he'll use the trade exception to eliminate the problem of trading Steve's contract rather than to bring in more salary.

Then again, you can trade Steve for an expiring contract and a star player on his rookie contract, but I don't see JVG going that route.

What a crappy trade.. both dont make any sense.

I wouldnt trade SF3 for AI straight up, nor RWallace when we have a better chance of picking him up in the offseason without losing any of our core.

I hope Rox management isnt as quick to pull the trigger as us BBS posters! Les if your reading this calm down this team will be ok! Let them play things out in the playoffs and see where we stand from their.

We've been making some improvements and I dont want to blow everything up to start over. SF3, Yao and RWallace would mean championships...

Amen that; that's like solving a problem with a bigger problem. If Francis is not a "fit", A.I. is certainly not a fit.

Do these 2 paragraphs seem contradictory to anyone else? First he quotes an exec saying Francis is not being shopped. Then he says the Rockets are going to offer him to Atlanta.

As for the quote about being open to suggestions, how many times have we heard that GMs are always in that mode? Sounds to me more like business as usual.

Typical Vescey and the New York media. Running crap through the mill and seeing if something sticks.

Can we trade for Ray Allen and Brent Barry with SF and Cat? Does that work cap wise?

If steve gets the team to atleast the second round, will Rox management still be looking for a trade?

You noticed the exact same thing I did. According to the article, the Rockets are not offering him, but listening (how many players in this league are there where you won't even listen?)... yet sources indicate to him they will offer him to Atlanta.

    Big "Huh?"

And how many of these pure speculation articles do we have to hear that literally do the same scenario (three-way, Iverson/Francis/Wallace)? It's no frickin' wonder people are starting to think it's a real rumor because you're all making up the same crap!

To humor Vecsey: Francis/Taylor for Wallace would be a major cap move... that's by no means a talent-for-talent deal. It's too similar to the Marbury/Hardaway trade. We'd need to get something else from Atlanta (or Philly) in that deal. I'd love to roll the dice with Wallace's talent, but at the expense of Francis? No way. We can get more for Steve.

I'm also convinced that these writers check in on this board. Well, I know Ford does... but wouldn't be surprised if Aldridge/Stein/Vecsey do as well. Their follow-up apologies and clarifications looked to be in response to the firestorm created by ROCKET RICH NYC's post.

Look how much you are losing when you trade Francis for Terry. Talent wise its not even close. Francis is a better shooter, better rebounder and defender. Vecesy makes up his own rumors and Francis won't be traded anytime soon.

Exactly!!!! Trading Francis would be the BIGGEST mistake the Rockets franchise ever makes. This team is coming together and will be fine. Why does everyone assume that the Rockets are looking to trade him? Francis made a bad decision by going to the Super Bowl and now he HAS to be traded? If the Rockets do trade him, this team will only be starting all over again.

Is Francis really taller than Terry?

Wallace can't be traded for 45 days anyhow (or maybe 43 now)...so anything regarding him being involved in a deal this season is absolute crap.

If they do read the board, they do it selectively. Otherwise they would have read that the deal above doesn't work because Steve is BYC...

Wallace for Cato and Taylor does, though, and would fill out the frontcourt for a team with only eight players and Mohammed starting. But I think they'd rather keep Wallace's contract and use it in the Kobe sweeps next summer.

If Vecsey writes that the deal is now Wallace for Cato and Taylor, you'll know he read it here.

Vecsey no longer checks in because he was banned.

    He was obviously YoYao.

How is it coming together? Because we beat the Lakers? We beat them on Christmas, which was a supposed turning point...

I love how one win and one good game by both Francis and Yao suddenly means the Rockets are destined for greatness.

I really don't want to lose Stevie. I have all this Francis crap and it would be worth zilch if we trade for AI or Rashweed or any other player. :( :)
