Minnesota as a backup backup if I recall correctly. Hell, I'd settle for IT at this point.

That's a shame. I really can't stand Austin Rivers, but he has improved his game since he came in the league. After we missed out on Butler I had a feeling it could only get worse... now it has. Harden can win another scoring title and maybe we can get a decent draft pick to add some youth to our core. Damn, I don't like to be so doom and gloom, but its not looking good.

we need a backup urgently. Houston is unable to win without cp3. If we give up this season for playoff, we can do nothing for trade.

And thats why you dont spend 160Ms on a 34 year old point guard. This might be Moreys undoing.

Ok, if you don't mind me asking what are you hearing on your front, in regards to trades.

There's not a player on this team besides Harden that would not decent value, so the trade front is probably stone dead at this point.

    4) Or EGo, Tucker. Could also be Capela.

If it's definitely a grade 3 with surgery possible then he's done for the year. Even without surgery he's likely done for the year.

A grade 2 sprain would put him out 6-8 weeks.

If it's a Grade 3, he'd probably be out months (given the nature of the sport and his position) and might need crutches to walk. That's a significant tear. I could be wrong, but the little context clues we've had (i.e. Chris jogging off the floor) didn't seem to indicate anything of that magnitude. Hoping for the best...

The same 34 y/o also had an extensive injury history and was coming off an injury.... Smh.

    Obviously dumb contract is obvious.

Yeah I'm hoping Vecsey is wrong as usual. From how he walked off I would guess it wasn't a complete tear. Either way he needs significant time off and whatever rehab he did in the offseason wasn't sufficient to fix the problem.

I, for one cannot WAIT for Astros season to start. Good god man. Morey isn't looking too genius this year. I guess he lost his wizards cap somewhere.

At what point does CP3 admit to himself that his body can no longer handle the rigors of the NBA and hang it up? All he is doing is continually hurting the team.

Sadly this is the reality. Not that it really matters at this point, but I'm honestly wondering if the Rockets did any kind of significant physical evaluation regarding his hammy before they went all in.

It's actually the other hamstring from what happened in the playoffs... but yeah, it is a re-aggravation from earlier this month. (It took a while for them to acknowledge it -- the first game CP missed in Cleveland was due to "rest," then they said "sore leg," but D'Antoni did eventually say hamstring... which set off alarm bells for me.)

But yeah, as with James Ennis (and Coutee with the Texans), once you start re-aggravating the same hamstring issue... it's not good. Even if it's Grade 1, you need a minimum of two weeks off and perhaps longer, and that's with a normal player. Considering CP's age and importance, might need to be longer than that, even in the best-case scenario.

In 3 1/2 more years after we finish paying him $160 million.

Should have built in minimum games and non-performance clauses.
