I had read he was interested in directing the last harry Potter movie. Maybe they'll get Alfonso Cuarón back for that one. Good for Del Torro for trying to get healthy too, Harry Knowles should definately do it since as I understand it, he hurt his back when he fell while pushing a heavy cart and it somehow rolled over him. He's definately not going to jog it off in that wheelchair.
I heard that even though there may not be a tv finale, there will definitely be something....like a straight to dvd type thing. The series will have closure.
Man, I hope they don't try to wrap up the whole thing in 1 or 2 episodes. I don't think I can handle the idea of there being less than 7 or 8 episodes left. Anything else would be cruel and unusual. But to get back on topic... yay for The Hobbit.
New Line is being sued again. Films probably delayed, if not scuttled. Seems like New Line has tried to screw everyone possible, despite making over 6 billion dollars. Sheesh.
It's confusing, I don't know how this works. Zaentz has the film rights and he licensed them to New Line, maybe in the original deal the Tolkien Trust was supposed to get 7.5% after costs of whatever film or stage version made. I mean, there is obviously some contract or agreement in place because they aren't just suing saying they should get a cut, they are suing because a contract was not honored and apparently the same way it happened with Peter Jackson, New Line used creative accounting to show that the movies made no money. Saul Zaentz's company sued New Line a couple of years ago over their cut on the first movie but it was settled.
