I don't follow football but something tells me at a place like USC, Carrol is already making over $4m/yr. My guess (and it's only a guess) is that Carrol currently has a base yearly salary between $1.5-$2.0m. I would have to think the alumni sweeten (subsidize) that substantially.
this year is 2005. there's only 21 days left in this year. the texans season doesn't end until nearly 2006. the bcs championship is about 3 days into 2006. take all that for what it's worth.
An NFL team that hires Carroll as coach and also gives him GM power would be making a huge mistake. His NFL record isn't that great. The Texans should avoid him.
