You work at UH too? It's the land of "I've done no work for 30 years and it's not starting now." Some spend hours trying to send simple emails as outlook befuddles them. My pet peeve is about myself - I wish I didn't need 8-10 hours of sleep to feel right during the day. I only ever get 5-6. i never have figured out how some people just don't need sleep!
People with copious amounts of chest hair that wear shirts unbuttoned, showing it off. Disgusting. People who are factually wrong, but are absolutely convinced they are right and are beligerant about it. I don't mind folks being wrong so long as they either admit it or don't talk about how right they are (when they aren't). People who turn left in midtown/downtown but don't do it from the left lane (usually from the second-to-left lane).
people with no elevator etiquette. get the **** off your cell phone when you get on one. and if you're about to get on one, let everyone else off before you get on. and if you're not going to make an elevator, wait for the next one instead of sticking your foot in before the door closes. people who ask me what i'm reading while i'm reading. i'm in the middle of a sentence dammit!
People who are auditioning for American Idol while I'm in line trying to order a sub. STFU your voice isn't a gift from god and everyone is trying to block you out while placing an order.
I think I've seen a reference to this improper elevator etiquette on a TV show before...Hayesfan, any help?
Sack tappers and other"extreme" kids who feel the need to showoff by braking skateboards in half with their testicles! I mean, really? Who do they think they are?
weird.. i don't get on the elevator while i'm on the phone...or i just won't talk if i do. But I don't have a problem if someone else does. I mean, it's not a "quiet space" or a private location. I'm just as ok with them talking on the elevator if they don't mind others hearing it as I am if they choose to talk in line at a Subway
first, I don't think pet peeve's necessarily drive you "insane". They are just annoying. and yes...yes...actually they do. So keep your eyes level
it's a confined space and people tend to start talking loud followed by the "I'M ON AN ELEVATOR, SORRY IF I LOSE YOU!!!!!". inconsiderate.
Elevators are great fun. When I'm on one by myself here at work, I like to make REALLY LOUD farting noises just before the door opens to the lobby, then have a completely serious look on my face once it does.
better than the sbd i let a few weeks ago when i was alone...i had to look straight down as i got off that elevator so no one would remember the face of the person who permanently polluted the elevator.
going to the supermarket or grocery store on weekends esp sundays. extremely crowded with a bunch of rude people everywhere.
