Water guns are the best way to run them off. Cats do NOT like water. In a pinch, a water hose will do the trick as well. It is harmless but effective.

Seems like a very short-term, temporary solution.

catch the cat take it to the SPCA,

Tell you neighbor you took the cat there.

The SPCA will make them pay an adoption fee and won't return the animal un-nutered.

    Situation Solved.

Once in a while there are dogs that got loose in my neighborhood. They scared the heck out of my 8yr old girl (and myself too). We are outside in front of our house. The dogs'd charge at us. They didn't attacked but they barked, showed their teeth and sniffed at us ... One time it was my wife and daughter and they ran from the dog. I am not sure if that was a good idea.
    Any suggestion?

If a dog is threatening your young children, you have every right to have the proper authorities put it to sleep. Period.

A better solution would be to put you outside and let the cat have the run of your upscale living quarters. In my world, that is justice. ;)

Antifreeze is highly toxic & for whatever reason has an attractive aroma/taste to animals. The reason he never saw the neighbor's cat again is because he killed it.

well on the Daily Show the other night they said cats fear/don't like the smell of fox urine. so i guess you could get some of that and spray it around the outside of your house :)

Reva is fine now. She's missing a couple of teeth and is now strictly and indoor kitty. She's put on some weight and has been switched to a light food but keeps active by being constantly harassed by our new kitty, Daisy.

Here they are together in what was originally, Daisy's bed, but being cats, they both use it!
