I have some large swarms of wasps all around my house and lately, they have been getting in the house some how. We have looked at all possible entry points and sealed up any we found, we even have our fireplace sealed up...just in case. The problem is we still kill at least one in the house every day, especially now since the temps have been rising so I am ready to turn this over to a professional. We already have a pest control company come out annually for termite protection and inspection and the visit usually runs around $150. Questions I have about this are.....

    1. Is it better to use a locally owned company or a national brand such as Orkin or Terminix?

    2. Does something like this require a contract? I have been told that usually when pest companies they'll get some type of contract done for monthly or annual service.

    3. What is the price of this type of treatment, if any of you have had it done before? If a contract is required, what do those typically run?

    4. I am not opposed to having a pest control company do other work too. If I called them specifically regarding wasp, ants or any other bugs, would they focus on what I called them about or anything?

I think these are the only questions I have now but please feel free to leave any information you feel may be helpful. Thanks.

You might have a big wasp nest inside your wall. Thats what happened to my cousin. They had a big arse bee hive honey comb in the wall and honey would drip down the wall.

I use ABC Pest Control and have been satisfied so far. No wasps problem so far, but had issues with fire ants when we first moved into our new house. Not anymore though.

We did sign a monthly contract with ABC and I think its like $20-$25 or something.

They did not require a monthly contract, but then their one time fee was super high and they were able to convince me I needed this **** on monthly basis.

Their standard treatment includes ants, roaches, etc. etc. But you can always tell them you have a problem with a particular pest and they can correct the situation.

A bee keeper came to the house. Theres gotta be a wasp nest somewhere in your house maybe in the attic or an A/C vent. A lot of those pest control companies want you sign a contract so you might wanna check around.

I actually wouldn't mind signing a contract as long as it is not just for wasps.

Abc had quiet a few options. I don't think anybody is going to make you sign a monthly contract just for wasps. Lol...that means its not working anyways if they are having to come back monthly to correct

That's good. I'd call ABC but I don't live in the Houston area. Would you guys recommend a local company or a national brand like Orkin or Terminix?
