I tested positive on Friday. I don’t know how I dodged this bullet for so long. Monday I came down with a head cold plus mild fever and a slight cough. Fever went away overnight. The remaining symptoms mostly went away by Thursday morning. But I was tired/ low energy. With the symptoms gone, I noticed that my sense of taste was off, so I tested Friday night. I did not think that I had/have covid, just a mild head cold. Now I am quarantining in the opposite side of the house as Mrs @No Worries and hoping she does not get this. She tested negative so fingers crossed.
Caught it earlier in the month I'm thinking no biggie i'll tough out the symptoms no problem... wrong. covid ended up doing a nasty number on my liver that had me close to dying. 3 days in the icu and 3 in a normal room. Its been about 3 weeks now and i'm just starting to feel normal.
just shut my liver down. The white in my eyes went yellow and i was unable to keep food or water down. by the time i went to the ER i could not even stand on my own. Initially i was thinking maybe it was Tylenol poisoning since i was popping those things like candy to treat the fever but my tylenol levels were fine. apparently liver problems are not that uncommon when it comes to covid. Not too sure which strand of covid. I know were kinda over covid, but keep taking some precautions cause its still a killer
Sounds like you have the Marburg Virus rather than COVID. There's an outbreak of that and it's related to the Ebola virus. Good luck dude
Nah it was covid lol I'm almost back to 100% but those early icu days were scary stay safe, clutchfans
we need a thumbs down button. so scary, and very sorry to hear this dude. glad you seem to be on the mend now.
Wow, scary to think that it still got so bad. Who knows how bad it could have become if you hadn't taken it. Glad you are better now.
Glad you are on the mend, @Aware. I am still avoiding it somehow though couple of my students have had it pretty badly recently. Two middle-aged friends have also had it pretty bad in the last couple of weeks - high fever - but neither hospitalized. One took Paxlovid (sp) and it really helped her a lot. I think the severity of the case depends on how much exposure you got, in many cases. The friend who got pretty sick had been taking care of her COVID-hit mother (who is like 90 and was hospitalized eventually).
