It's funny that Silver even gives this lip service of 'ongoing discussions'. But he knows that if he categorically says 'NO', Kyrie will throw a tantrum, like a little child that he is (which would be bad PR for the whole league). There's absolutely 0% chance there are any 'ongoing discussions' of making this horrible move business-wise.
Just make the logo human... No race, no gender... Make it so that anyone can identify with it. This is what's needed. Not basing it on certain players where bias will always be seen. A stickman will be better. (or not, as fat people won't be represented).
At this point it may just have to say NBA because a picture of a ball might trigger those without balls or those who have plans to remove their balls since they don't associate with them. That being said, I stand against the idea of using NBA because the letter N should be removed from our vocabulary due to its direct association with a racist word that I will not even dignify with explaining since I too would be a part of the spreading of hate. B and A are also letters that could be used in a bad way so those need to go too!
. Maybe, just go for a picture of a ball. Seriously, people nowadays can't think much better. Too much hate...
Several Logoman basketball cards are now in the half million to million dollar value. I wonder if a change will make the value increase due the new scarcity, or kill the value because who cares about the white logoman patch anymore. These cards in my opinion have always been exaggerated in their value, but collectors love and chase them, but not in sexual way or anything, or maybe they do, and it's like an eyes wide shut situation.
the nba logo isn't going anywhere, else jordan would've been it. the rockets should change their boring logo tho. but whatever it is, patrick should definitely sign off on it. i trust his youthful take.
