Cluch really needs to add a "Shudders Violently" smiley. ... would you rather have a donkey for 2 more years or an ass for 6 years?
Artest (career 41% and 70% FG% and FT% respectively and 12.3 PPG) and Christie (42% and 82% and 12.3PPG) make Bowen's offensive game (38% and 57% and 5.6PPG) look like Kobe's. Even with SA--the easiest team in the league to play SG/SF on offense for (well along with the Lakers), the guy only shot 39% from the field. While SA can mask it better than any other team in the league because of Duncan, the guy is meant to be a defensive speciliast off the bench . Also remember, Artest is 11 years younger than Bowen and 12 years younger than Christie. Artest offensive game can keep getting better. I would think hard of parting with either our #15 (depending on who was left) or KT for Ron Artest.
Here's a list of players who could nice role players at the Small Forward Position: -Ron Artest -Ricky Davis -Bostjan Nachbar -Rod Grizzard -TayShaun Prince -Rashard Lewis -Wally Szczerbiak -Lamar Odom -Caron Butler
I would really like Corliss Williamson from Detroit, but it would take a lot to get a player like that.
I'm still looking at Donyell Marshall at the 3 spot. 3 or 4 yrs and the mce or trade KT and Collier sign and trade might do it. You can still draft a small forward and after this season when Rice only has 1 yr left, you might be able to package him and Taylor,or Cato together to dump salaries. He's pretty versitile, wouldn't cost you a boatload, and you would have an immediate upgrade at the 3 spot and a player that doesn't require a lot of shots.
You're talking trade? Problem with Patterson is that he's a role player who gets paid like a star and THINKS he is one too. I know how much Rice and Mobley are making. What about Moochie? Thank God West/Kupcheck moved Rice.
er, I meant MoT not Mobley. Trading with Portland would be stetchy since I think even Trader Bob's learned his lesson with bloated contracts. Portland is deep at 3,4 anyhow.
