Just a fun topic I was thinking about. Neither here nor there...and no ones answer is RIGHT or WRONG, so please dont start dropping that stuff around here. I was just thinking...with all the complaints about RA not being the right coack for THIS Rox team...these players: who would be the right coach for this team? I know some say JVG, but others feel that what we gain in defense and half-court posting with JVG, we lose as much in other areas of offense. Who would you choose, if it could be anyone from the last 20 years. I think Chuck Daly would coach this particular group of guys the best.
Avery Johnson, we need hardass saying Yao score this, Yao do this, Aaron Brooks GTFO. We need to be more strict and we need to be more tough. I have no problem with Adelman at the moment though.
True. AB's game simply doesn't fit with Yao's. And we are lack of height inside, with several low basketball IQ players, not much athleticism at all. No coach can take this team to Championship, unless a healthy Tmac returns, or get some significant help by using his contract.
i love RA. he's a great coach, a great coach for us. we just need to hit our shots, get another player or two to improve our talent level, we're destined to win.
WE need Jerry Sloan. I think he will be the perfect coach. WE need his discipline and need someone who have the gut to yank Aaron Brooks for some of his stupid plays.
Tell me something, all you AJ fans: What has this guy EVER done to make anyone think he'd be a good head coach, apart from lobby his ass off to become one? Seriously, his track record is mediocre at best -- he took a talented Mavs team and didn't really do much better or worse than the coaches who came before and after him. He took them to one finals, where they choked in an embarrassing fashion. His playoff record is under .500. And his own players eventually turned on him because he's such a jerk. The emporer has no clothes! And a whiny, irritating voice.
With the complains on this board about coaching you would think that our coaches were placed in a perfect situation. JVG had two superstars but the role players were mediocre at best. Rick has good role players but his two star players that this team has been built around have not been healthy together. I hate how Rick doesn't call timeouts or make substitions when the team clearly needs one but I think this board has overrated the talent of this team and underrated what Adelman has done. He has no true PG. Undersized Big men outside of Yao and Scola
