The boost we would get on special teams with kick/punt returns alone is worth a 3rd rounder. Plus he'd easily be our #2 rec. His health concerns me but his salary isn't too bad right now

Superstar might be a bit much, but I definitely agree with your conclusion here.

I think a third or a fourth might do the trick ....we get Harvin and can build the rest of our issues through the draft our receiving core would be sick !

I would give our 2nd round pick for him and I think it'd be worth it. But snag him for a 3rd in a heartbeat.

Texans need to make a splash after flaming out. The move makes too much sense. In the end it won't happen and we'll be told the texans "don't have the cap space"

Because they don't. It's not as bad as last year but you have to think about it this way. Would you go grab Harvin and basically tie up your cap so you can't extend Cushing because his contract is coming up soon.

Plus they just threw a crap ton of money to Schaub...that's more

Only way the Texans get a WR is through draft or go grab an old vet for very cheap.

Why do ppl talk so bad about the cap every year and every year they restructure Andre and free up 10 mil. The Texans should throw a the Mario compensation third rounder at the Vikes and get this guy and then when Posey comes back put him in the slot and disguise some looks on the offensive end. FYI Kevin Walter and Percy Harvin have the same cap number so since the money is equal who's production would you rather have?

With Barwin sucking it up, the money that was allotted to him is freed up. Been a while since i looked at cap, but the Texans may have enough for more than just a bargain bin WR. Don't know if they have enough for him or not, though.

Percy Harvin makes less than a million this yr..? Couldnt we trade for him and
    see how it turns out...

At the end of the day, The Patriots will get him, because they indeed have a front
office that knows how to make a run at a superbowl year by year

I would be fine with trading a 3rd round pick without locking him up long term.

yes that would be the right call. You trade a 3rd pick for him and dont worry about the long term situation. he plays out the YEar and helps us on another superbowl
run... Worst that could happen he leaves beacause our cap space. so beat it.

Maybe we would be able to franchise tag him, if we have his rights for next year?
    Not sure how that works

He is the type of risk the Texans need to take. He is young and very gifted. His numbers last year do not tell the whole story as he had a sorry QB.

If we are going keep Shaub we need something to "help" him and Harvin fills the bill.
