Can you kick a field goal reliably from 40 yards in? Also, if you can walk and chew gum at the same time, you might be able to win a football scholarship at the position of your choosing at Rice U. Good school, too.
Go to the best school possible regardless of scholarships. If you cannot afford it, financial aid will take care of you till you graduate then you will have to pay them back!
Excellent idea! Can you tackle an 85 year old guy that walks around on a cane? You're already better than half the UT defense!
If you dont make good grades in highschool then you wont get into to a good college and then you wont get a good degree then you wont get a good job then your life will suck. might as well start drinking now.
This thread reeks of bull****. I am a genius who is looking for a way to have a full ride because during my lengthy career as a genius no one ever mentioned anything about scholarships.... You know if you are really valedictorian then you would know that if you would really need well above a 4.0 because AP classes, such as those you mentioned, are graded on a 5.0 point scale which brings most Texas valedictorians to around a 4.5
LeGrouper - 5.0 scale is not necessarily true. It's the district's prerogative. My district went to 4.5, Pasadena (a "suburb" of Houston) went to 6.0... etc. It's not a guarantee, and I definitely met people who just plain had 4.0 scales. As for the dude asking the question - yes, it's true. A valedictorian in the state of Texas gets tuition paid for if he/she goes to a public school in the state. An 1100 on the SAT is okay. If you're really valedictorian, though, you may want to take it again, as what someone else said is true - the typical valedictorian usually scores higher. The discrepancy is usually indicative of something (bad school, bad luck on SAT, etc.). Check the usual suspects for money: review.com (Princeton Review), petersons.com, the individual universities you'd like to go to, and government sites. Fill out the FAFSA as soon as you can, if you're a senior. You'll need it. Talk to your school counselor, but take EVERYTHING he/she says with a grain of salt. Mine sucked. Also talk to other students and your favorite teachers for ideas. Paying for school is tough - good luck!
Well, he isn't "The BM" for nothin'. I agree that this thread is fishy, especially after The BM posted it in virtually every other forum.
xiki, that was pretty cool. I read that without a problem. Of course, that probably took you a little longer to write it that way.
