People moving into traditionally Republican areas is not necessarily good news for Republicans. While it gives them more electoral votes, it also might water down Republican power and leave it more winnable by Democrats. As population density increases, the tendency is for it to swing liberal. Why do most cites vote liberal no matter what their racial or socio-economic make up is? As South Western cities expand, they will moderate and may actually tilt to the left. Look at how competitive New Mexico and Arizona are becoming for the left. Look at Colorado and Nevada. Imagine if Texas goes that direction as well?
