I think a team from the West has an excellent chance of winning the championship. The Lakers are the defending champions, and the spurs currently have the best record in the NBA. It would be silly to think a team from the West couldn't win the championship. If you disagree, that's your opinion, and you're entitled to it, but I can also have my opinion.

I didn't mean to say that the West didn't have any team that could win a championship. I meant that outside of those top two, no other team has a chance. The East has four teams that probably have a legit chance to win the conference (and the championship).

The West just has more teams that can put up a respectable record. But they're still not in contention. That doesn't make the West vastly superior in my opinion.

    FOUR? Miami+Boston+Orlando=3

Keep in mind East teams tend to have inflated records due to weak competition.

There is no way I am believing that Chicago is better than Dallas.

Suite yourself. The Bulls were one of the few teams that beat a full-strength Mavs early in the season, at Dallas. They also beat them a couple of weeks ago in Chicago with both Noah and Boozer out.

Maybe you haven't seen the Bulls much, but when they decide to clamp down on defense, opponents wear down and wilt. They are indeed better than the Mavs. Derrick Rose is the best PG in the NBA and a legit MVP candidate.

After Noah returns, their defense and rebounding will improve even more. I doubt they will finish #1 ahead of both Miami and Boston, but I wouldn't be shocked if they got #2.

Chicago is currently second in the East, despite the fact that Rose has been banged up and they've only had Boozer and Noah together for something like 8 games. They have one of the greatest defensive minds in the league as their head coach, and arguably the best PG in the league. They are a legit contender.
