There is a lot that the US could learn from Sweden. One example that I can mention is how easy and simple a lease agreement was here. The government has universal rules and protections that govern these contracts so our agreement was only three pages with two of those pages describing personal property that the landlord was storing in the basement. Outside of that, it stated who the players are, the property, and how much we will pay. It was written in both Swedish and English. Everything else, like early termination, notice, etc. is mandated by the state so there is no need for pages and pages of legal mumbo jumbo. These stipulations are fair and universally accepted. For us, predictability, transparency, and equal protections like this (for both parties) are a breath of fresh air. We are used everything being as complicated, sometimes intentionally, as possible.

We are still learning to navigate the governments system but, so far, everything is easy to navigate and intuitively integrated into your every day life. There is also a universal identity authentication system (https://www.bankid.com/en/) that is pretty awesome. Again, there is much to learn.

This is rich coming from the side that has depicted a global (as in the entire world) pandemic as a hoax meant undermine the moronic leader of one country. Conservatives and Trump are the least empathetic and narrow minded group of people on earth and other than the 30% of fools in the US that support this buffoon, the rest of the entire world sees this disaster for exactly what it is. The destruction of common decency, compassion, and democracy in America.

But I do agree that temper tantrums will not and have not swayed moderate voters. Donald Trump is the literal embodiment of a temper tantrum and the voters will respond accordingly. It’s going to be a bloodbath.

I'd say closer to 36%, with Bill Barr and other enablers standing tippy-toe at the finish line, extending a swimming pool net toward Trump to pull him the extra way: "GRAB IT! I GOTCHOO!"

I used to think the same thing, but Sams was my only easy choice, logistically, for a long time. The closest Costco was on the 288 side of Pearland and I don't drive 30+ minutes for groceries. But after going for a while, I noticed some big differences. It's a pay membership model so that keeps out the riff-raff. The employees there are the same day after day, too, which tells me something about their store culture. Costco built a store here in the Clear Lake area but it's an extra two miles from me, always packed and to be honest, the benefits aren't enough for me to switch. I guess the only upside I saw when I snuck in was that they had toppings at the snack bar.

I do avoid Walmart unless I have no other choice. The miniscule price difference isn't enough for me to breathe that air on the regular.

They treat and pay their employees very well and is reciprocated with loyalty from them. They have a very strong culture.

Everyone loves me. I told my therapist so!

She told me I was a narcissist, but she had the hots for me.

Some random a**hole put a bullet through the back of my van today and blew out a rear window, and after it whizzed about six inches away from my head it punched a hole in my front windshield.

As far as I can tell they just did it for kicks.

    Fun times.

Kirby and OST, right near NRG. Now that I think about it, maybe it was The Easterbunny putting a hit on me for all the s**t I've talked about the Texans.

Murica needs to just go ahead and make bulletproof windows standard, or at least make it an optional add-on, they could call it the 2nd amendment package.

It’s just the way of life in Houston nowadays. Everyone has a gun. Houston is just one big shooting range.
