    Nope.

    1. The world was outraged because of what took place at AG, not because a brave soldier reported it.

    2. Again the deeds at AG are what contributed. Doing the right thing by reporting them to his superiors did not increase recruiting efforts.

    3. Reporting the fould deeds did just the opposite. It showed that even when some troops would do things that smear the good name of the U.S. armed forces their are others who will risk ridicule, and alienation by being brave enough to the right thing and blow the whistle.

    4. Military time and resources cleaning up practices of torture, rape, and murder at a U.S. facility in Iraq are certainly not a waste, unless one would want those things to continue, which the U.S. ARMED FORCES Do NOT.

I am with the armed forces on this one. Those activities are horrible. I would expect someone who mouths so much about supporting the troops would be with the armed forces on this one too, and want that kind of shameful behavior cleaned up ASAP.

I'm not going to jump to any conclusions here and ASSUME these deeds are true, unlike many of the liberals on here who seemingly wish that they're true and our troops look bad again. Little wonder why people question the liberals' committment to our troops when they're the first to jump on their case for things that haven't yet been proven. Doesn't sound like a good friend or supporter to me, that's for sure.

T_J brought up a good point about viewing these acts in their proper context. If some jackazz terrorist mocked 9/11 in front of me, he would be put to sleep no questions asked.

you dont have to ASSUME anything. troop-hating anti-american liberals like rumsfeld and REPUBLICAN senator lindsey graham have already confirmed the horrific content of the photos.

why do secretary of defense rumsfeld and republican senator graham hate america and the troops?

here we have the secretary of defense and a republican senator accusing our brave and valiant troops of RAPE and MURDER. this is far worse than durbin's comments about gitmo being like a gulag!!! i am outraged, i tells ya!

Who are you talking to? The people who have seen the evidence and commented on it are Donald Rumsfeld(non liberal) Sen. Graham(non liberal) Sen. McCAin(non-liberal) Gen. TAguba(U.S. Armed services)

You can rationalize all the reasons you want why people do things they do. Folks can rationalize just about any crime committed. That doesn't excuse them.

I don't think the terrorists have too much to worry about.

I have concluded that there is absolutely no way the T_J character is real. That has to be a joke. Give it up, which one of you is it?

i came to the conclusion that t.j. and big texx are actually the same person. somehow, they managed to open 2 accounts.

is it just coincidence that they both joined june 02?

and whenever one posts, within minutes the other will chime in, regurgitating what the other already said. just look at this very thread. texx comes in and just rehashes exactly what t.j. already said about not assuming anything or jumping to conclusions, despite the fact that members of the bush administration as well as leading republican senators have already confirmed the truth of the photos. and dont forget the tired "the liberals" references. they/he seems to spend more time hating liberals than the actual terrorists. sad.

and i got a bit of a chuckle over their/his john wayne like stance on terrorists who throw poop and mock 9/11. its easy to talk tough, but here's your chance tough guys/guy. uncle sam needs you - go put those jack-ass terrorists "to sleep". you guys/guy are right though - throwing feces and mocking 9/11 is definite justification for rape and murder. god bless america!

Frist Delays Showdown With White House

By LIZ SIDOTI, Associated Press Writer
    2 hours, 4 minutes ago

WASHINGTON - Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist on Tuesday delayed potential showdowns with the White House over terrorism detainees and closing U.S. military bases after the Republican-run chamber failed to sidetrack amendments on the two contentious issues.

The Tennessee Republican's decision to put off until fall further consideration of the amendments — and the $491 billion defense bill they were aimed at — came after the Senate voted 50-48 to cut off debate on the overall measure.

That was short of the 60 votes Frist and the White House needed to prevail.

Under the Senate's rules, a vote to limit debate would have automatically killed the terror-suspect and base-closing amendments. The White House has threatened that President Bush would veto the entire defense bill if the amendments were included in it.

"I'm very disappointed in the last vote," Frist said on the Senate floor. "We will proceed to the bill on gun liability," the next bill on the Senate's schedule.

That provoked outcries from Democrats who accused Frist of pandering to special interests by shelving the defense bill to work on a National Rifle Association-backed bill that would shield gun manufacturers from liability lawsuits.

Congress leaves Washington this weekend for a monthlong summer break.

Not nearly as funny as a certain poster who, faced with a challenge, simply declares himself the winner in his sig while running away from said challenge like a whipped puppy.
