I did watch him in his prime, and I still think Kobe is a much better pure scorer, plus he plays in a more defensive oriented era.

Shaq has said that PH was the Fredo among the Corleone brothers in relation to all the Duo guards he's played with, KB was Sonny, and DW was Michael.

PH pre injury < KB in prime IMO

It's laughable that people here think Penny was better than Kobe. Kobe's defense is light years ahead of Penny's.

Offensively, they are basically a wash.

Penny would have been great. Still, Kobe is more of a dominant perimeter player than Penny ever was.

Regardless, I always hate it when injuries ruin such a promising career. It's really unfair but what can you do? It's their luck I guess.

Kobe just put in back to back 40's.

Yeah well Fredo doesn't make first team all-nba twice in a row. Lets wait and see if Wade ever accomplishes that. Shaq was just kicking Penny when he was down and when everyone forgot how good he was.

Well it was one game but it was pretty amazing. Anyway, I concede defeat. Kobe's the better scorer (mostly because he's less shy about taking shots and has more leadership qualities).
