I saw Penny in a Range yesterday at the Westin Galleria. But the license plate was a Tennessee one (maybe a rented ride) - I remember it was not a Texas plate. I was not so sure he was who I saw (because I could not imagine what he would be doing there by himself during the season) so I ask someone standing next to me to and the person confirmed it was him.

Is he clubless now? Does he have a house in Houston?

Didn't he go to school in Memphis?

I think he does have a house here.

Did you see him on Tuesday? Because I was at the Galleria on that day, walking around, when I saw a guy that looked similar to Penny. I had to do a double take, but I was pretty sure it was him.

So I second your Penny Hardaway sighting.

If not for the knee injuries Penny would have been a top 50 player of all time, easy, maybe top 25. He was like Kobe with better handles court vision and wisdom.

Kobe is a much better scorer than Hardaway ever was. I'd actually compare PH as more of a slightly inferior version of T-mac.

Well if you watched Penny play ball prior to his injuries, you would see how easy it was for him to score. Some days he would get 20 pts but could easily have gotten 40. His shooting percentage was way higher than Kobe's, even comparing years when both players had Shaq. Even in the 97 playoffs he was playing with an injured knee and still managed to score back to back 40s to almost upset the Miami Heat.
