A year from now, it would be interesting to see a graph of PSU alumni donations and how 2012 compared to previous years. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that 2012 giving is going to be... below average. (Well, there'a also that whole "end of the world" thing happening in 2012, too. :) )

Both Baylor and Duke were able to recover from their respective scandals. I know it involved different sports but scandals like this haven't been program killers in the past.

But Penn St. really needs to institute huge amounts of damage control while the story is still hot and America is still watching. Bringing in Tom Ridge, former Penn. Govenor and Homeland Security Director, as president would be a good start IMO. Clean house, bring in no-nonsense guys without a connection to the school, crucify those involved, say this is a "new era" of Penn State, and I think they'll be okay. With that said, alot depends on whether JoePa is anywhere near the field this Saturday IMO.

Duke ended up being exonerated, but yeah, Baylor bounced back really quickly.

So, the Nebraska/Penn State game was supposed to be televised this weekend.

    Doubtful.

This whole thing is absolutely sickening to even read anymore.

Ziggy, you really have issues dude. I seriously cannot believe someone could think the way you do with your first post in this thread.

Yep, these are coaches and officials that slid child molestation under the rug for 15 years.

This makes me so angry I don't even really know how to post about it. Grad student sees a 10 yo kid getting raped in the shower and does nothing, but tell the f'ing coach. Coach Joe calls his 'bosses' and they do nothing and no one follows up... ever. Pedo continues to rape boys for another decade. If you're going to cover up something like this at least do it right and hire a hitman to kill the b*stard.

It's amazing 'the vest' one of the most revered coaches goes down immediately for a tattoo scandal and Joe Paterno will probably finish coaching this season knowing kids were raped in his team's shower. This is absolutely sick.

It doesn't got as far up the ladder, but considering one former player murdered a current player, it was pretty bad in itself. It just got disgustingly disturbing when the coach tried to paint Dennehey as a drug dealer.

Wow. I didn't think they'd do it. It's the right move. You can't have him on the sidelines with all that's happened.

There are no winners in this story, only losers.

The pain one man caused upon countless children, and then tarnishing countless of his friends/colleagues reputations by putting them in a situation where they failed to do the right thing.

Hopefully the abused children get some closure, but I think the media will just make it worse by not letting the story die.

They tarnished their own reputation, and why should the story die? Hopefully patterno is on his way to the front of a jury. I'd love to hear his reasoning as to why he didn't come forward.

LOL. Seems like the speaker for the board of trustees is having a good time during the press conference.

Paterno is a coward and a protector of a child rapist. He will probably be dead within a few months. Burn in hell.
