I can only see this happening if Dwight insists on it. Dwight has been known to want to team up with Williams for awhile now and I wouldn't be surprised if Morey tries to make Dwight happy. I'm pretty sure that was the only reason he hired McHale.
Man, I used to LOVE Deron Williams' game. Explosive as hell, big and strong, great vision... Nowadays, he might be a guy you take a chance on for 8, maybe 10 million a year in hopes he turns it around and gives you 1-2 relatively injury-free seasons. Max? Yikes.
As a nuclear option D-Will for Lin only would be a good deal for both sides. But I hope it doesn't come to that. Pursue Lowry or Rondo first please.
D-Will is clearly better than Lin, but is he better enough to be worthy of giving up Asik? Unless Morey has good reasons to believe Williams can return to an all star level of play, I'm not in favor of this.
Did my due diligence on Dwill. Watched a few of his games in depth to get a good feeling on what level he is playing at. Looked deep into his advanced statistics, lineups, etc. He just doesn't have it anymore. Bad conditioning, bum ankles, he just looks washed up. He looks like a 7 million dollar player right now.
Yes, I do...I think Dwill is getting a bad wrap and is still a great player, but is misused in the current Nets system. DD
I appreciate you valuing my opinion, but I am not going to put the time in on Felton. With Williams, I had atleast some minor hope that he might add something to this team and be worth the contract, but with Felton, there is no chance. He is just awful, I don't need to go in depth to know that. Desperation PG, vet min at best.
And @ DD Why in the world you advocate for this, when you can just wait one year and go after Dragic instead. Such a better player.
Maybe brooklyn isn't for D-will, but that ankle would put me at caution. Especially the lack of heart he has showed in his time with the Nets. I don't think he has got a bad wrap, more of like it is what he has shown. That ankle has had a lot of cortisone shots, and from what i hear, it seems to weaken the tendons and/or cartilage.
