I think Pence is deserving, but whether he deserved it or not in 2009 has nothing to do with it. He's competing with other players in 2011, not the 2009 version of himself.
Yeah, Hunter's trade value is at an all time high at the moment. Pence ,himself has said he's seeing the ball better .....The game has slowed down for him and it really shows. Having Lee providing decent protection now is a factor too...many more fastballs to feast on..... Good thing we didn't take the rumored offer from the Phillies, eh? Besides, he wasn't going anywhere unless someone blew our socks off .....face of the franchise while rebuilding ......But if someone threw 3 -4 top prospects our way?
