So rimrocker, your defense is innuendo and conspiracy theory posted on a left-wing blog. Sad. Olmert said it himself. Ain't no spinnin' that one away, big boy.

Just to further point out that the Pelosi wearing a head covering is overreacting apparently she didn't wear one all the time.

I don't know the details but my guess is that it was only during visits to religious sites which would be no different than if she was visiting a mosque in the US.

The feigned outrage by the Faux crowd has been amusing.

    Right Laura?

I still think you are making way too much out of this. Tell me when you visit an Asian household do you remove your shoes? What Pelosi did was on par with that. For that matter I have friend who are Jewish who have invited me to attend to Synagogue with them and I have worn a Yarmulke (sp). I'm not appeasing the Israeli lobby just showing good manners.

But there are two problems with this. The first is that the Syrian Baathist regime is a secular regime. They don't care that much about Muslim religious tradition. It would've been a different matter if she was wearing a Haafez Al Assad pin which would be catering to the Syrian regime but wearing a head covering doesn't mean that much to the secularist. Two, is from the photos and videos I've seen she didn't wear the head covering in meetings with Bashar Al Assad and it looks like she only did so during visits to religious sites. If she was appeasing Al Assad why didn't she wear it during their meetings?

What she did do was wear it to religious sites that would be the same whether she did so in the US, in Syria, or any mosque in the World.

the whole headscarf thing is, in my mind, overstated, but i'd think even the most simpleton of the nutroots could see that there's a fundamental difference between wearing a headscarf or a yamulke in a US mosque/temple, or when visiting a holy site in an allied country, and paying homage to a murdeous dictator who is actively undermining the US policy at a time of war and providing, money, means and material to terrorists that are killing US soldiers.

Assad does NOT support the troops. Pelosi shouldn't be sucking up to him.

Whatever gets you thru your life it's alright, it's alright
Do it wrong or do it right it's alright, it's alright
Don't need a watch to waste your time oh no, oh no

The distinction is Laura Bush is religious and there is a personal-based reasoning for the dress wear...It was her choice, and I also displayed testimony in support of the ability to choose earlier...

    come again.

    No need too

Conservatives have completely lost any semblance of rationality in regards to attacking Pelosi over this whole affair. And the picture of Laura laid bare the hypocrisy of their feigned outrage. But I guess it takes the heat off of Jr for a few days.

    It’s really quite amusing.

I don't think so...because she certainly dressed up for appeasement and displayed traits of weakness

There is a certain aura of farce when you visit a religion that doesn't represent you, just to appease others...

I sure would...because I have a personal based reasoning to respect the rules of a household.

Now if you told me to visit Buddha with you, and threw some halloween outfit at me. I'd tell you to F off or politely say "no"...

p.s. thanks for affirming the reference with the youtube... :D

I sure did, my friend from the North. Here just for you: "The distinction is Laura Bush is religious and there is a personal-based reasoning for the dress wear..."

Her being religious (which in of its self is debatable) means nothing to me or the circumstance. Laura covered her head in respect to the customs of another country. Appeasing, if you will, the traditions of said country.

Again the hypocrisy of your outrage is plain for all to see
