NO, that what be Charles Lindbergh. Kind of like sending Don Rumsfeld to meet with Saddam Hussein. Oh wait, that really happened.
Yeah, and what also really happened is this skank hag putting the gear on her head to appease those in that country which sponsers terrorism...jeez...All that was needed for her to complete the picture was to carry an RPG and strap on an IED... Look, I have no problem with the witch going there. If she wants, she can stay. My problem is her dress up for appeasement. Pathetic... I personally don't have too much of a problem with those that don't assimilate in the U.S. culture and insist on dressing like it's Halloween. At least there is a personal reasoning that ties to something of personal value... BUT...having said that, you should attempt to assimilate if you decide to live in another country...
^ Its good to see you Roxran on the D & D again but I think you are really overreacting here. You can question Pelosi's judgement in her rhetoric but I think the whole thing about her covering her head is overreacting. Like it or not it is there country and Pelosi is there as a guest. Its simple manners, not to mention diplomatic requirement, to honor their tradition. As others have shown any other female US official would do so.
Wow, those people attack Pelosi are bonkers. She is wearing a head scarf, in a nation where it is the norm.
where are you from? its only during holloween when you see a woman putting a fashionable scarf around her head? where I'm from, people put a hunting clothes on during holloween..
If she were a republican they wouldn't be concerned/bonkers at all (see Laura Bush and Condi Rice). That's basically what it comes down to.
Here's an interesting but possiby meaningless question: If Hillary becomes President, and she visits one of these countries does she wear the hijab? And if so, how do the American people, particulary the right, respond to the imagery?
Condi isn't the most powerful government official of her party. Unfortunately, not so with Spkr. Pelosi. If Iran doesn't do a nuclear and Holocaust about face in the next year-and-a-half and Iraq, albeit magically, has de-escalated enough to not be the GOP weakness it is now, I think this photograph (and any related file footage) goes in every Republican campaign ad in November '08. If Iraq can be blamed for Sept 11, don't think Syria can't be linked with Iran, especially by the 50-100 million voters who couldn't find either on a map.
Hey Pusso and B Jorge. Where is your condemnation for the three republicans who visited Syria and actually disagree'd with Bush's policies? Where is your hatred for Mrs Bush wearing the Head Scarf and how about Condi. Quit clouding the facts with your normal racist ignorant bullsh!t. The clock is ticking answer those questions already. Quit acting like you havent seen these facts posted in this thread. Quit acting like you both havent taken world class ass beat downs. LOL. You guys got owned!!!
Really like the animated gif. Almost instinctively reminds me of Little Mac's Super Punch in Mike Tyson's Punch Out.
Yes! Because we all know that covering her head out of respect to the customs of another country is exactly the same as wearing a symbol of hate. grow up
It has already been pointed out that what TJ talked about was far from the truth. How many muslim women live here that don't put on any sort of head covering? All you have to do is answer that question to see that TJ's comments were prejudiced. You have sleep with the dogs when you try and defend those kinds of comments. The ignorance both of you have shown in this thread regarding not only muslims in general, but what is and what isn't American is astounding. I'm sure we all have a lot in our lives that we have done that might be shameful, but some of your shameful deeds you are putting on public display in this thread right here.
source [rquoter] -- On CNN, Sens. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) and Joseph Lieberman (I-Conn.), who caucuses with the Democrats, switched partisan roles discussing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's recent visit to Syria, in spite of administration wishes. "She has a very prominent constitutional role in determine what's going to happen in the Iraqi war. Syria is very much involved with respect to the funding," Specter said. [/rquoter]
yeah man! or she might even go strolling hand in hand thru the fields w/ a prince from the country where 15 of the 19 9/11 hijackers came from!
When visiting places like the Vatican, it is not at all unusual for women to cover their heads, Catholic or not, out of respect for tradition. I suppose they are "giving aid and comfort" to the enemy? After all, they covered their heads with a scarf, for shame. Some of you are really making yourselves look foolish. It's a pity. D&D. More Coffee!
It still goes with saying that the basis of dressing up for appeasement is not something that can be canned solely as a "manners" thing. Manners is when you come over to my house and be who you are with respect. Just because I'm a hunter and that is my tradition does not mean it is good "manners" to deck yourself in the new Army digital camo complete with tactical vest...This makes no sense to me. The Syrians certainly thought Pelosi is who they thought she was,...so that means they should accept her as she is. Think about it... Just because the U.S. is so tolerant of others as a tradition in the large sense of the word, means we should accept intolerance? I would have respected Pelosi much more by getting there being herself and not the appeasement apparel. If I am Syria (which is a state sponser of terrorism in fact), I'd be estactic that my enemy is so quick to appease. This is leadership I want in power when I strike. ...Please don't mistake my ire on her being there. I think the right leadership going there to meet your enemy and look them in the eye is worthwhile and noble...But the appeasement apparel only shows me that the democratic leadership is too eager to concede, give up, and give in... We all know Pelosi is who we thought she was.
