In addition to what Vlaurelio noted Syria is on the list of countries as a state sponsor of terrorism that Americans cannot travel too without permission from the US State Department.

I hope everyone who voted for "centrist" Democrats in the midterms realizes what a colossal misrepresentation that was. By electing "centrist" Democrats, you empower radical liberals, such as Pelosi and her ilk. Nancy Pelosi made a fool of herself in Syria, communicating with sponsors of terror, and insulted womens' rights activists everywhere by wearing that head cover -- in essence endorsing Islam's heinous treatment of women.

She wore it to a mosque. It's called respect... unless you think Condi and Laura are also endorsing the heinous treatment of women.

Also, here's Bush who is in essence endorsing Judaism's view that Christ is not the Messiah nor God.

Or, he's being respectful at the Wailing Wall.

i have no idea what you're referring to here, but in reading the posts here in defense of pelosi, there's seems to be an attempt at conflating the trip itself, with what was discussed, or how it was discussed. it is the latter that is at issue. Pelosi has no right to attempt to undermine the elected president of the united states in discussions regarding foreign poilicy. unless one wants to ignor the constitution, foreign policy is the sole purvue of the executive, and you **** with it at peril to all the values you profess to hold dear.

I think that, while theoretically true, it has been shown in posts #6 & 7 that in practice what Pelosi has done is not abnormal. To try and portray this like it is some sort of unique affront to the constitution is disingenuous.

i would imagine there's a legal definition of "authorized" and it likely has no relation to whether one was "briefed" or not.

It would be nice of you to quote the kook fringe liberal blog that you pirated that information from -- the Mahablog. Trying to represent that collection of photos and argument as your own is somewhat.... well, disingenuous, don't you think? Nice try though. Really it is.

The fact that Nancy Fonda-Pelosi is meeting with a terror sponsor, against the President's orders, and kow-towing to their backwards customs is an outrage and it undermines our nation's principles. Do you see Muslim women respecting American traditions when they are in our country? No, you see them walking around like it's Halloween, with sheets draped all over themselves. It's just typical left-wing terrorist appeasement policies... Nothing new -- no spine from the lefty defeatists. She wore that hijab to more than just the mosque, so the Condi/Laura Bush argument obviously doesn't hold. Again, nice try.

Are there any liberals out there with a spine anymore? We've got such a vaginal collection of wusses on the left wing, attempting to bring our military and foreign policy down from within -- it's disgusting. How about standing up for OUR interests every now and then? Not giving in to the enemy?
