"Someone created the boxscore. And he should be shot." -Morey. First off, I'm not seeing how Battier is so significantly worse then Peja on offense. He scores less, but he takes less shots, and his percentages aren't significantly worse. And that's not even taking into account defense, which is half of the game if you haven't realized. We already have enough offense in the backcourt with Brooks and Martin. You trade Battier and Jeffries, two highly capable defenders for a guy like Peja who even in his prime wasn't that great and today possibly couldn't guard me, and who the crap is defending Kobe or Wade? Martin? Peja? Good god, Kobe would get 82 that time. I can't believe I had to spell this out.
Oh. Great. So in crunch time I guess we send in Brooks-Lee-Martin which means that we have a guy earning 15 million sitting on the bench during the time. What a great allocation of resources. Not to mention against the Heat we have Martin trying to defend James, which would be frankly hilarious in a pathetic way.
Getting Peja makes the team worst off in every way. First of all, who's going to play defense without Shane?? 2nd, you use the expiring on Peja...so how are you going to sign Brooks next year?? This trade is pathetic in every way and pointless. Peja is just a spot up shooter and can't defend.
i'm not sure trades that make us 3 games worse are in our favor oh and i would do this trade in a heartbeat.
