Doubtful. I'd take a chance with a younger guy giving up bombs all day than a over-the-hill starter getting $5 mill to do the same thing.

If we are in a playoff run at the trade deadline, I could see us going after another arm. If not, I see us trading Tejada

If the season started today the rotation would be,

    Oswalt
    Wandy
    Hampton
    Moehler
    Capellan/Ortiz

Backe, if healthy is competing for the 5 spot.

Looking at this rotation really excites me about the upcoming season! Especially since Astros history has taught us pitching is what gets us out of the first round off the playoffs, and possibly to the WS. At least Pudge might be able to help our dynamite pitching rotation  save a run here and there!

Pedro and his washed up, 83 mph fastball isn't going to help anyone.

With that said, the Astros have far, far, far larger concerns than the pitching staff. If they aren't going to address those, of course they're not going to look at this, nor should they given their budget restrictions.

The fact of the matter is, Drayton has fully conceded this season, due to the "recession." I have no problem with the Astros taking a season or two to rebuild the team, and replenish the farm system....what I do have a problem with is Uncle Moneybags' actions speaking louder than his words. If you're going to rebuild, then at least have the decency and honesty to tell the fans as much. Don't go around spewing lies about how you feel like we're fielding a contender this year, and that you see another pennant run coming. It's garbage, and there isn't one person in this city who believes it. Fans will continue to watch the Astros because Houston is a baseball city. If you don't believe me, just listen to Charlie Palilo's show, and count how many guys call in wanting to talk about the Astros in mid-March when the team hasn't done SQUAT in Spring Training, even while we have a basketball team in town that's on a heck of a roll right now.

trade everyone except Pence, Berkman, and Roy.... and lets build and damn team.. i would rather suck for 3 years and then be good. But if not, lets get another arm with experience since we probably have about a 10% chance of making the playoffs. ****, we barley made the playofffs when we had Roger and Andy here. So how is Mike Hampton going to ??? ha

I agree. Pedro may be a 4th starter for some teams but not for 5 mil a year. Borderline hall of famer. Some of that greatness would popup every now and then.
