I still remember the conversation I had with a co-worker when Warcraft 1 came out. He was convincing me it was the greatest game ever and "if you like playing with army men, you'd love this game!" Zugzug.
From what I read all the invites yesterday were mostly media. They were supposed to let most of them in for F&F but there were some questions about some members of the media being in while others were blocked out. Blizzard blocked them all so no source had a head start on writing reviews over others. Now that the media NDA is lifted, they are trying to get them in first. The prevailing opinion is also that Blizzard will be trickling users in rather than a block of mass invites at certain intervals. They want to test the stability of the servers, and how they will deal with stress, so they want to keep the level of users at a maximum. So as players slow down, more will be added; and as the servers show they can handle a certain amount of users more will be added.
It looks like they're saying it'll be an "early 2012" release instead of a late 2011 release. On the plus side, I'll probably still be playing Forza 4 and Skyrim around Christmas, so this gives me some breathing room.
Umm Info from Blizzcon concerning a major plot point. I'm sure this will be on many sites and common knowledge soon but I spoilered it in case you want to be surprised. Spoiler According to the Blizzcon Official Poster Diablo is taking on a feminine shape. The poster has Thrall, I'm guessing Kerrigan and Diablo on it. Diablo definitely has feminine looking hips and a slender build.
It's so easily possible nowadays. The trailer is probably 3 mins short and a couple of seconds of her closeup won't break any rendering engines. You need to check Zbrush website once awhile.

Collector's edition contents revealed. http://www.1up.com/news/diablo-iii-collectors-edition There's a 4gb usb drive included with D2 and LOD installed on it. Pretty cool.
Blah, I hate cinematics...they have virtually nothing to do with the game. These same cinematics could've been made for some atari or nintendo 8-bit games and it wouldn't have a difference because everyone knows these aren't the real graphics in the game. F#$ckers...
Ha, you're right. I don't even remember the Diablo storyline. Who cares, just show me where to click, and I'm good to go.
I'd also forbid to use cinematics for game commercials, too many people think it's how the game plays and get really disappointed when buying the product (look at all the PS3 or MMO commercials).
I love cinematics. Gaming companies have really improved their quality over the last few years. With the quality of the videos now, if people really think the cinematics are gameplay... those people deserve to lose their money.
