i'm asian and married a white guy. i have stayed away from asians (guys and girls) since high school so my network to date asian guys have been gone for 11 years now. i did date one once but all the other guys have been white. i went to the doc the other day and the nurse asked me "so what part of you is asian?" that cracked me up! I told her i'm full but my last name is my married name. she was obviously a little confused. then again one of my childhood friends is mixed white/asian and she looks 100% white. i think that dude's comment about how mixing races is not a good thing is truly horrible. go back to your motherland and never come back america! it happens here and it makes ppl more understanding of each other, you learn about each other's cultures, etc. nothing bad about it. like another poster said, i hope the world in the future is all one big mix as well.
I'm asian and I've been married to my caucasion wife for 10 years. It was pretty rare when we first got married but its common place biw. We were at Costco the last month and saw at least 5 couples with kids that were like us. I think the most common mix in Texas is hispanic and anglo. Then it becomes white guys with asian girls. Now I see as many white girls with asian guys as white girls with black guys. Its no big deal anymore. The only thing I don't see much is asians and blacks like Tiger Wood's parents. I guess the culture gap is still pretty large at this point in time.

Haven't white guys been marrying Asian girls since WWII... then Korea... then Viet Nam? I'm around the 3rd to 4th largest city in NC and I've known three interracial couples since around 1980: all were black guy, white lady. That's almost 30 years... I don't think the measure is so much PC/non-PC as it is just remarkability. It is still unusual but I don't think it is viewed so much as correct or incorrect. When you finally meet the spouse of someone you know, aren't you surprised if they are not of the same race? It's just what we expect because it is so largely the norm. That doesn't mean that, in our hearts, we object to it.
I only have that problem when I see a white guy with an attractive asian girl. if she's ugly, I don't get the same reaction

I grew up in California in a small church setting and they were plenty of mixed marriages, my best friend was hispanic / filipino, his mom was full hispanic and married to a black man. My other friend, her dad was a big black guy, a former college football linebacker, and her mom was a blonde-haired, blue-eyed white woman. There was also a 2 marriages with a white man married to a hispanic woman, and the Pastor and his wife were white, but had an adopted hispanic daughter. The kids were all the only friends I had growing up. I didn't even have a white friend until I was in college, so race was never really an issue for me, I grew up believing that skin color just really wasn't an issue at all. It was sad to mature and realize all the bull**** that goes on because of it.
