I think Rockets' fans would be happy with another Gary Payton. Heck, I think any team would. Even if he's a punk (which he's toned down over the years), you can't argue with the results. Many players make trade requests, but most of them aren't seen out as the team (and later, the player) come to realize that no move is the best move.
how dis payton get screwd by kemp? in 96 kemp, single handedly took the sonics to the nba finals. when kemp was a sonic he was notyhing short of a incrdible player, think before you're big mouth
They would have been a dynasty if not for Kemp's greed and substance abuse problems. Of course, McIllvaine shouldn't have been signed to that contract either, but Kemp still had alcohol and promiscuity problems at the time.
Kemp didn't singlehandedly carry anybody anywhere, Payton had as much to do with it as Kemp, maybe even more so. That Sonics team doesn't get past the Jazz in 7 games if Payton doesn't put the clamps on Stockton and stop him from exploding. Stockton's match-up problems with Payton is the main reason they could never get past the Sonics. And then Kemp got greedy for money, I guess to support his 5 billion children, and forced the Sonics to trade him.
looks like seattle is on a down ward spiral towards being the scrubs of the nba. If lewis and payton are gone. Then its time to rebuild from scratch.
According to Chad Ford of ESPN, the Bucks shouldn't stop with the trading of Glenn Robinson. A trade involving Gary Payton and Sam Cassell. It makes sense. The Bucks finally break up all 3 cogs leaving only Ray Allen. Payton has wanted out of Washington for who knows how long. They make up for the scoring loss they were hit with the departure of "Big Dog"... http://espn.go.com/nba/s/2002/0805/1414288.html
