Deals are still being announced. It takes the league office a little time to approve the deal. The Nugs trade that was "announced" with 30 minues left until the deadline was completed earlier this morning.

What was the Nugs trade? Where can one go to read about these trades now?

KJR 950 just announced that a deal has been made. There are a few possible deals, not all involving Payton.

    The latest word:
    Bucks get:
    Desmond Mason, Gary Payton

    Sonics get:

    Ray Allen
    Joel Pryzbilla
    Kevin Ollie
    Elden Campbell

    Hornets get:

    Kenny Anderson

    Horrible.

I heard it on ESPN news, they said the Sonics would announce the trade within the next hour. They also said the Sonics could have 2 trades in with the league office.

The trade sends Mason and Payton to Milwaukee for Allen, Pryzbilla, and Kevin Ollie.

The other one sends Kenny Anderson to the Hornets for Elden Campbell.

    All but official.

One of the worst trades ever.

Seattle gives up Mason, Kenny Anderson and Gary Payton and get Joel Pryzbila, Kevin Ollie, Ray Allen and Elden Campbell. New Orleans gets Kenny Anderson

Beat me to it by seconds. Oh, and Milwaukee did quite a number on Seattle.

Hmmm, and GP and Mason is a better deal than Mobley and Cato/Taylor (considering that GP is a free agent).

I don't know how they could trade a fan favorite like Desmond Mason. It's already a travesty trading Payton, but MASON? Those two players were the most entertaining on the bloody team. And Mason is one of the best off-court guys in the league, as well as a fantastic dunk champion.

Idiotic. The Sonics won't be getting any more of my money (except when the Rockets come to play).

Is this serious? I have no idea why the hell the first trade would go down?
It really doesn't seem to help either team all that much. I guess the Sonics trade Payton before he walks in the summer? Forget Pryzbill and Ollie. Pretty much just scrubs. This is Mason and Payton for Allen. And then do the Bucks pony up for Payton this summer? I am not so sure with their salary situation. So they could lose Payton and then it boils down to Ray Allen for Desmond Mason????? WHY? At least with the Rockets "potential" type offer of Mobley and Cato the Bucks would fill two holes.

Who is going to play the point in Seattle now if Payton AND Anderson were traded? Brent Barry?

    A real head scratcher here!

Kenny Anderson for Elden Campbell makes sense for both teams. I see them working with that trade.

Dont forget, George Karl is probably desperate to get Payton back, so I am not surprised that he is willing to give up Ray Allen. I just dont see why they would want GP with Cassell there. I could understand Cassell instead of Allen, but I guess they are willing to give up their franchise player for GP.

I thought that the Sonics were trying to package one of their big busts (James or booth) with Payton not one of their young stars...
