If it is true that he abused his body as was mentioned earlier, he should be glad that he even lived till age 71. Normally people who pig out like that get a heart attack around age 50 and croak. I admired his work. He brought opera to the mainstream.
Maybe some expect others not to have an I-Told-You-So attitude when another human passes away. Do you go around to the funerals of your friends' grandparents saying, "What'd you guys expect?! Fools!" It's called paying your respect
