[Breaking] Republicans pass the same budget that the country rejected in last year's election.

This is getting seriously ridiculous. The country literally just voted against it. Literally just said no thanks and now they propose the same thing. Baffling.

The extremely- conservative base is dying. They don't have an identity anymore. When their main "weapons" speak out like this and mess up, it becomes embarrassing. Who is the "voice" for conservatives at this point? Unfortunately, I'd wager that at least a third would suggest that Rush Limbaugh represents their philosophy of life. That alone is such a polarizing position. I think even the hardest of republicans are recognizing that alienating moderate positions is bad for their reputation and for America. It's not cool anymore to be so far on the right that everyone to the left is shunned, or more than often in these last couple of years, prevented from making even minimal policy changes.

It has been weird lately with some of my friends. It's almost like they're tired of supporting "leaders" with such extreme, uncompromising views. It makes sense. I mean, how can you consistently back a party that has such an unwilling mindset when it comes to finding some sort of common ground for the men, women and minorities that expected a fair shot in life? Even with gun control, my conservative friends recognize the need to change things up a bit, instead of being stubborn just to be stubborn.

On almost every issue, the GOP are nothing less than belligerent fanatics. They ruthlessly, immorally, and unethically use scorched earth tactics to serve their corporate masters. There is no reasoning with them, no compromise is possible, the only solution is to vote them out of office at every level of government.

Really. I wasn't aware the national budget was on the ballot.

Silly me, I thought we were voting for our representatives.

Weird part is that even business are starting to come out in opposition to their policy ideas.

Advocacy isn't intended to be rational or compromising. It's purpose is to get the best deal for the people paying the advocate. It does not require leadership or statesmanship or even truth. If we question "why" anyone says anything we can decide whom to discount and whom to believe.

Not all advocates are paid. Whether or not they are and by whom is certainly relevant, but even that doesn't necessarily discredit an argument.
