Kg is on his last leg. Dumb move. They should be able to get cap space for dj, that would be the way to go.

I think willie green and their other 2 non guaranteed (or maybe even grant hill's contract and cash) are part of a Bledsoe Afflalo deal. My personal suspicision is that the Clippers unwillingness to trade Bledsoe was because of that, and that the Clippers will draft for Orlando at #25 and then send them both on.

Kg (whose a C now, not a PF) / Griffin/Butler (Pierce?)/afflalo/CP3 will actually be a pretty damn good team, well rounded and games would suit each other.

When was the last time a more irrelevant 'trade' got this much attention? Actually with as much hype as the trade deadline gets every year now, it probably hasn't been that long.

So the incentive for Boston is what exactly? Getting rid of Doc's contract? They'd essentially be putting themselves on the hook for longer with Jordan's contract, but releasing the contractual burden of Doc. Is that the only reason to do this? They'd be giving up picks too is that right? This doesn't make sense to me, what am I missing?

Maybe BOS thinks highly of Jordan? The guy does have some abilities and potential. Kind of like JaVale McGee.

The Clippers are giving up picks, not Boston.

I think they're gonna try to flip DeAndre to Atlanta for a re-signed Josh Smith.

I think that from the Clippers perspective, it's all about getting Paul to sign an extension, so they remain relevant, a "big deal" in LA, which Sterling has never experienced, not worth mentioning, anyway. The Celtics have decided that Rivers has burned his bridges with them, it's over, the team is too old, and they want to do a quick rebuild. Don't ask me how Jordan helps them with that, but he's a young big man, and maybe they see more in him than I do. The 2 1st round picks don't help with a quick rebuild, but they are valuable in trade, or in the long run.

Honestly, there's a hell of a lot of this that doesn't make sense.

Okay that makes a little more sense then.....but still. Jordan? You'd think Boston could get better. I know they don't have much leverage, but it's not like they're getting much of anything back. Like Bima tweet indicates, they're taking on longer term salary. I'm befuddled.

He's a pretty good contract for keeping yourself to the league minimum while actually being pretty bad at the same time.

The Celtics if they get rid of KG etc want to be really bad next year

You might be on to something there. Celtics tanking big time to set up high picks for 2014 and 2015 drafts. Add in the aquisition of picks and you get a team who is accumulating assets a'la the 2010-2012 Houston Rockets.

Rondo is either going to have an extended recovery time, or get traded for kids/picks, I think they're going something closer to OKC than us, our owner wouldn't let Morey tank, the Celtics are fine with that.
