This is probably just a smokescreen. They will wait until the last minute prior to free agency to get the deal done.

Would it be in the best interest of the Rockets to help facilitate this? In order to avoid a Griffin Bledsoe combination for Howard? Assuming the Celtics want bledsoe.

Have you seen the people they've been targeting?

Byron Scott, Brian Shaw, and now Doc Rivers. Obviously the Clippers are doing their best to appease Paul.

This "deal" is kind of backfiring on them though. Showing the cheapness of their owner and management, once again.

There is still Lionel Hollins and Alvin Gentry and Brian Shaw. There are plenty of qualified black coaches that the Clippers can hire and be an upgrade over Vinny DelNegro.

Having said that, the argument that CP3 didn't insist on a black coach really doesn't seem to hold water at this point.

Further, we will have to see if Doc Rivers even wants to comeback and coach the Celtics. If he wants to comeback, it won't be hard. Doc is well liked, very professional, smart and has great charisma.

C'mon Chris the clippers could screw up a wet dream. Just join up with Howard in Houston. The Spurs are old and Heat may blow it up. Only Durant stands in the way of multiple championships in htown. You know it's your best chance to win so make the right choice.

I still think an Asik/Lin/TRob(or the pick(s) you can get for him) for Rondo/CLee trade makes a lot of sense for all parties involved. May not be time to pull that shiny sword out of it's sheath yet. But.......

Why do people keep saying that trading for Rondo would be a good idea? He's a terrible backcourt match for Harden.

Because he's the greatest superstar player on the lowest contract. Which is exactly what the Clippers want if Paul wants to walk......
