No Scott and Hill should be suspended. Bush league if they suspend George for taking a step onto the court.

It seems a little ridiculous to suspend people for approaching a fight, when the participants in the fight aren't themselves getting suspended. Is it really a fight if no one gets tossed and no one gets suspended?

When was that? Amare was a star in his rookie year.

Wait, what? Disappointing #1 seed routinely quitting and throwing arrays of bricks in games against a sub 50% 8th seed?

It's the NBA that made a big deal out of this...now they should eat there own cooking.

IMO, neither are worthy of being suspended, but both SHOULD be suspended.

Sorry I worded that poorly. I just meant the NBA had suspended a star player before when they suspended Amare for this violation back in 2007.

looks like Butler helped George. Butler gave the NBA an excuse to not suspend George, since he was one step further.

    Letter of the Law

    vs

    Spirit of the Law

In a world ruled by thinking rational human beings, the Spirit of the Law should ALWAYS take precedence over the Letter of the Law.

So, we know how this SHOULD go.

However, since we all know the world is not ruled by rational thinking human beings, it would not surprise me in the least if both end up being suspended.

What does this say about us all, that the rational decision is possibly the least likely outcome, and the clearly stupid decision is the one which would surprise no one?

The whole point of the rule is to prevent escalation. It doesn't matter if it was just a shoving match with no suspension...if the benches clear, the odds that it would escalate are greatly increased.

Don't believe they should be suspended because they didn't escalate anything, but NBA should suspend them if they want to be consistent

I missed that. Sounds like Silver needs to call Oprah for these suspensions.

"you get a suspension and you get a suspension..."

If this were the Rockets they'd be suspended, and then the suspension would be redacted the day after the game.

Players get that far in court on dunks and big buckets.

I remember the NBA suspending a ton of spurs and Suns players in the playoffs back when Nash and Amare were there. I think it was when Bowen hipchecked Nash into the scorers table. Amare was among the ones that stepped over the line and that were suspended.
