I guess the surprise was the 15 in a row... in street clothes... with no warmup... at 56 years old.

Larry is Mozart... while everybody else is John Tesh.

I could never really stand Bird during his playing days but I ALWAYS respected him. The man was an awesome basketball player. I does not surprise me at all that he can still shoot.

This comment has little bearing on Larry Bird

But despite the naysaying, DaDakota is right about that.

If the goal was RAISED to 11.5 feet, would be EASIER or HARDER to shoot on it? Of course it'd be a little harder.

(Coulda said 9 feet instead of 8 to make it a better comparison)

Shooting touch does not go away as you get into your 50s and 60s, especially if you practice it every now and then. This thread is a waste of space.

The one event at the all star game which i think would be so much more exciting is the 3pt contest if they allowed legends to join. Imagine dirk vs bird. Miller vs allen, etc.

You'd have to give the old-timers some extra time to shuffle between racks.

Yep, it is much easier to shoot on a 10 foot rim if your release point is nearer to 10 feet.

Not really that hard to understand really.

Exactly! Larry gave up his body playing the game really hard. Although I grew up in Texas, I always appreciate Celtics BBall. Havlicek and Bird are two of my all time favorite players.

thanks for posting the vids...i only caught the tail-end of the 80's myself, but i did enjoy it more...i don't have any stats to back it up, but i felt like there were less whistles and the game flowed more freely...the refs let them play more, the taking a charge thing for example didn't happen as much
