Prayers for PG. One of the bright young stars in the game. Hears to a speedy recovery and even better game.
Plenty to gain. Because people that aren't interested in basketball from other countries, will watch their countries play. It's how the NBA got big in the first place, thanks to players like Jordan showing the world how fun the game can be. We have to show the world how fun the game can be aesthetically. Long story short, some kid from Argentina is not going to watch a game between two local teams he knows nothing about. Just like USA fans have problems getting up for a Manchester United vs Manchester City match... But turn that into Argentina vs USA or in Soccer's case USA vs England...now you have eyes on the sport that weren't on it before.
With all due respect to you and your experience w/your Achilles injury, I would wager that more people would consider this, a leg break like this(or Kevin Ware's or Theismann's or many other Soccer leg breaks) to be more painful than an Achilles injury. Plus, factor in the shock for a lot of players when they see their leg dangling as such. I have never torn my Achilles(thankfully) but I've seen my fair share of athletes and relatives that have. It's painful but they can still walk to an extent. (Kobe). They can still hobble w/the assistance of others. One does not simply get up and walk or hobble after a leg break like this. Then recovery time. Recovery from an Achilles for most is about half a year I believe. Beckham tore his and recovered in six months(Athlete recovery from surgery back to field of play). My cousin tore his in January and was back walking almost like normal six months later. An Achilles is bad, but it isn't as bad as a leg break like this.
We saw how long that perception lasted. About 10 years after the first dream team and then we had to start all over again. The team will come together because of this. We are going to Spain. The Stars won't let PG get hurt for nothing.
Please note the Achilles Heal is named that for a reason. It was the only place you could take out a god/man named Achilles.
Leg break like this I've never experienced more pain in my life. And your absolutely right. I looked down and grabbed my lifeless leg. Down right traumatic, to the point watching any kind of injury takes you back. The hardest thing for pg is to play hard, every jump, every drove, any kind of contact, its going to be in his mind. He will be a jump shooter for a while i promise you that

I saw when he broke it, I didn't watch the rest of the video. That was just gruesome. Feel so bad for him and his family.
Dr. Mark Adickes @jocktodoc Follow Pacers Paul George suffers lower leg fracture. In the absence of nerve injury this injury should heal well after surgery. 6 month recovery. 10:59 PM - 1 Aug 2014 127 Retweets 38 favorites
Hate that this happened. I've been in the PG fan club longer than most. Pacers are absolutely screwed!
I hope this leads to a movement in the NBA to have all cameramen and Goals completely removed. I hate when bad things happen to good people. Hope he gets back on the court soon!
Damn when I was driving home earlier with the radio on I thought he was close to death with how everyone was talking. Prayers to the family, players crying in their dad's arms, reporters being emotional about witnessing it live on TV or being somewhere in the building when it happened. In the 40 minutes I was driving they never mentioned what the injury was. I kept thinking it was going to be similar to Andrew Bogut injury but with a broken neck instead of an arm. Hope he recovers well soon.
Dude has a broken leg, do we really have to pray for his family? Scary injury and it sucks for the Pacers... they should trade Hibbert right now!
Wouldn't be surprised if the Pacers blow it up and tank this season to try to get some more pieces. George is still young.
