    :rolleyes::confused:
Exactly. This is common basketball knowledge. Martin is our best scorer and biggest threat off the dribble. NOBODY outside of Lowry can get to the basket at will like Martin. You can't have a post up player and no creators

I hope the deal still goes through. It makes the Rockets a much better team, and Gasol has a better chance of enticing the star they need, rather than Martin and Scola.

Lee and Gasol is a better combo than Martin and Scola.

if youre gasol and you come to houston, you have no shot at a ring unless morey pulls off more deals... why wouldnt he want to be part of the lakers if cp3 is going there?

    Good or Bad IDK!

I don't agree giving up so much would have been good for us and by so much I mean the picks included in the proposed trade. I firmly believe that the young guys currently on the roster can become a star for the team but it will be a gruesomely bad season for them to develop into one. But we have to get more back for the "assets" we do have and who are owed a lot more. Scola and KMart deserve better than to give it all for team going nowhere. Trade them and play the young guys till we hit it in the lottery or they turn into something worth building around.

Scola is more effecient scorer with better work ethic. Gasol is a more powerfull scorer, but he is soft as butter. Long live SCOLA!

again... i gotta state this... lemme get this clear.

So you don't want an all-star? (Would've made us better defensively)
    Would've cleared space.
    Could've gotten Nene.
Used the extra to re-sign hayes.
Easily bought some picks. (like we've done in the past.)

    PG- Lowry, Flynn
    SG- Lee
SF- Marcus Morris, Budinger, or FA
PF- Pau Gasol (Arguably top 3 PF's in game) Had his second best season last year. Check the stats. and P-Pat
C- Nene or Marc Gasol (Potentially)

One source on ESPN (John Hollinger), stated it would have made us a contender/Elite... i shouldn't even have too explain myself.

How is Scola a more efficient scorer? Gasol averaged more ppg with fewer shot attempts per game...

lee, gasol and budinger is better than martin, lee, and scola. offensively it's a slight hit, but the defensive upgrade is huge.

if u think about it, pau did have kobe to draw all the attention away from him. for the rockets, opposing teams often times doubled teamed scola. if the rockets had a superstar to draw the attention, scola would be a very efficient scorer

So is the difference between gasol and Scola that much that we would have to sacrafice Martin and Dragic as well?. This was a far to steep of a price to pay.

Until Adrian Wojnarowski reports it, I won't believe anything that ESPN reports.

    Difference is nominal

Luis Scola averaged 18.3 ppg and 8.2 rpg in 32 minutes per game
Pau Gasol averaged 18.8 ppg and 10.2 rpg in 37 minutes per game

Perhaps. I was just disputing the claim that Scola is a more efficient scorerer.

I think Gasol would have helped us a lot more on the defensive end than Scola does though.

Who cares? Last time I checked Gasol didn't have a no trade clause in his contract.

Exactly. Thank god this trade was nixed. We would have got raped. If we offer that packiage to another team we would get a much better packiage in return.
