Jefferson has great moves in the post, but he isn't a great rebounder, he is a bad defender, and he isn't exactly efficient. 14.5 FGA for his 16.5 ppg this year.

Glad we didn't give up 2 firsts and get locked into his contract of 14 mil/year. I'd just rather have Scola. If we are going to have a PF that doesn't defend or pass.

Maybe they aren't that good, but what I am saying is that if we go to the lottery 3 times, the chances are we are gonna end up with someone with similar upside to Hill and Williams.

Sorry, I thought you were talking about the Blazers possibly trading us Camby after the 09-10 season.

So you're telling me the Clippers would have wanted Battier's non-expiring contract when they clearly traded for 2 expiring contracts? I am confused.

It's all good. I have disagreed with plenty of things that the Rockets have done over the years (Cato contract; Moochie contract) and even some things that the Morey front office has done (Francis signing; Brooks and Landry picks [that's MY bad!]). It just so happens that the current regime and I share many of the same opinions on what is best for this franchise.

Besides, it would be way too boring for me if I ignored you. :p

They don't need a legit center, they need a good one. Size can be acquired, but medicore size (your run-of-the-mill Brian Skinner/Dan Gadzuric-type) probably won't fare better than, say, Chuck Hayes.

No, they're calling for Patterson to replace Hill in the starting lineup. They want him to take Chuck's place.. not his spot once he's healthy.

Nene looks like just what we need.

We saw Pat on K-Mart and Scola on Nene, that ought to tell you Pat isn’t ready to start over Hayes at Center, maybe he is not strong enough at the base.

On the other side, I feel ready to say that J Hill is gonna turn into a great man on man defender but that won’t matter much if he can’t learn to be at the right place on rotations.

Patterson is playing great, but he was getting a little too "block-happy" in the second half after getting those two early blocks. The Nuggets got about 2-3 second chance buckets after Patterson was out of position trying to fly in for a block.

He's still a hell of a lot better than Hill.

But this team misses Chuck Hayes badly. The Chuck haters need to shut their damn mouths.

I like this new style of posting Bima! I also agree.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to BimaThug again.

HAHA, yea, I've learned to appreciate Chuck A LOT more over these last few days. I'm a believer in JHill and his potential but Adelman knew what he was doing, have to give him credit for bringing Jordan along at the right speed. Starting PPat maybe the way to go, which is kind of sad but whatever it takes to win games.

I first thought they were due to lapses in defensive rotation by Patterson's teammates, but I think you may be right.

I wouldn't call it a "new style" so much as me just being really pissed after watching that game.

Call me old-fashioned, but I like watching DEFENSE being played by my team. And other than short spurts tonight from Shane Battier, Kyle Lowry, Courtney Lee and Patrick Patterson, I didn't see much of it.

Yeah I agree there, not saying just get any stiff...but man a Varejao would help a lot.

Also I'll say it again and again, Hill just cannot play Center. These problems aren't so recognizable when he's playing 4. His defense then actually looks good, but a Center is pretty much at times the orchestrator of your defense. If you watch good teams play defense you will see they are all playing off their Center. It is a special position much like PG and you can't just throw guys out there and expect results.

Thats why Hayes can play the position admirably. He knows where to be.

Agreed, but I'm sure you know it's not just tonights game. We are missing Chuck, but we really need more inside. Hill has looked awful the last couple of games after it seemed like the light may stay on. This team IMO really needs someone patrolling the paint, preferably a vet. Is there anyone out there available, I'm not sure.

Sorry for the Large Font from my original post, I may have had a few too many to drink last night and I guess my vision was off and I couldn't see too well. :)

But watching the game tonight, Patterson looked very winded playing in Denver. I think he will have a BIG game in his first signficant game at HOME against Portland and then you will see a bit more of his skill set. All I know Start him or not , let's just win some basketball games in January Please!!
