Patterson is just paranoid of re-injurying himself. Thats why he doesn't dunk or get rebounds he should. He tried to avoid major contact or physicality which is why his game seems so finesse this season. Cant blame him, really. Think about it. This is his first NBA contract and he's not trying to end his career early before it even started. Not for a team thats barely expected to even make the playoffs and dont know what mode they're in. He need it legs for a long productive career. He doesnt want to push it after just coming back recently. He's a good rebounder and good defender. We seen evidence of this all second half last season.
